AND, did you see the new products being offered this month? Not only does MFT have a new color this month, we now have a card stock sampler—a pack of 29 sheets for $8.95. If you think you see some more new colors, your eyes aren’t deceiving you. A perk of buying the sampler pack is getting a sneak peek at two more new colors that haven’t been released yet.

And now on to my project for today.

teaserday3_2012aug31card
For the card, I stamped the sentiment on part of my

Die-namics Layered Label and popped it up on foam. There’s a Die-namics Open Scallop Doily Duo die cut under everything and the bottom border was made with my Die-namics Simply Scallops, Medium die. I finished it off with a sweet flower made with the soon-to-be-released Die-namics Flower Medley die, a Hot Fudge Button, and hemp cord.

I created a tag for the bag of coffee beans using my Die-namics Tag You’re It die, Die-namics Fishtail Flags STAX, and another Die-namics Flower Medley flower with a Hot Fudge button and some hemp cord.

I made a label for the bag using my
Die-namics Fishtail Flags STAX, my Die-namics Designer Label’s 2 STAX, and Die-namics Primitive Pumpkins. I told you I had a hard time putting those pumpkins down! The “sentiment” was stamped using my Typewriter Alphabet set.

Love Yourself–CTD #208

CTD208_2012sep5

Hi, all, it’s Color Throwdown time! This week’s colors are brought to us by the amazingly talented Denise and are such sweet colors—as seen in her gorgeous inspiration photo.

swatch 208

I kinda went all mixed media on this card, LOL! And had a ton of fun doing it! I think the base part is pretty self-explanatory—some distressed up patterned paper from a long-retired Basic Grey collection called Sultry. It might be retired, but it was PERFECT for this color combo. Then I added a couple of MFT Die-namics Fishtail Flag STAX strips (I really have to fight to NOT use these on every. single. card!), with their ends torn. Next up was a bright pink bling flourish that I swiped with an Adirondack white paint dabber.

The next element started out life as some white corrugated paper. I cut it out with my Die-namics Own Your Story Stamp Set & Four Point Frame, swiped it pretty heavily with some Picked Raspberry Distress Ink, from the Summer Seasonal Set, and then swiped it with the white paint dabber, as well. I love how the colors mixed! Then I cut a piece of ledger paper from Basic Grey’s White Basics collection with my Die-namics Notebook Edge die, stamped the sentiment from Just My Type, distressed it and swiped some Picked Raspberry ink on top. I stamped the leafy flourishes with Mowed Lawn Distress Ink, also from the Summer Seasonal Set. All patterned paper edges were also sponged with Vintage Photo Distress Ink to add some age.

The last thing was to make some Die-namics Royal Roses and Die-namics Royal Leaves, ALSO swiped with the white paint dabber. I’m lovin’ that thing, too!

Here’s the inside with another sentiment from the set:

MFT September Teasers, Day One

teaserday1_2012aug29

Hi, everyone! MFT September teasers start today!! I am over the moon excited about this month’s offerings and I know you will be too after you see them. Today we’re showing you WTF Fairy Dust, and two new Lisa Johnson designs: Primitive Pumpkins and Distressed Diamonds. LOOOOOOOOOOOOOVE!

TeaserTime_FullSize
I have two cards for you today, but first…

Here are the details about the upcoming release:

  • You can attend the New Release Party on September 10 from 8-10 PM EST HERE in the MFT forum, where you can WIN PRIZES!
  • The MFT release, including all new stamp sets and Die-namics, is on September 10 at 10 PM EST.  You'll find all the newest products HERE at release time.
  • The guest designer contest is going on now!  Check out the forum for details on how YOU can win over $200 in stamp sets and Die-namics.

OK, I’m using Primitive Pumpkins for my first card. I’m warning you, I had a hard time putting that set down while working on teasers—I love it! I went kinda CAS with this card. First of all, I stamped the star border on Whip Cream card stock and popped it up on foam dots on a Kraft card stock base. I stamped the sentiment and then stamped the pumpkins after I die cut them with the coordinating Die-namics dies. Swoooooooon! To make the little tendrils, I simply wrapped some covered floral wire around a toothpick and adhered them to the back of the die cuts. Sweet!

For the inside of the card, I stamped another sentiment and the little pumpkin trio. I used water based markers to color the stamp so I could get all three colors on it, huffed, and stamped!

    teaserday1_2012aug29in

My next card uses WTG Fairy Dust and is NOT CAS :) I wanted a very lighthearted and whimsical look for this card. I  am using the September Guest Designer sketch for my layout.

    makeawish_2012aug29

I stamped WTG on Neenah Classic Crest Cover, Solar White Smooth, 130lb paper, colored her with Copic markers and paper pieced her dress with patterned paper and her wings with vellum. I matted this with gold metallic card stock and adhered a star-shaped rhinestone to her magic wand. I stamped the sentiment on more patterned paper cut with my
Die-namics Mini Tab Foursome, embellished with a Die-namics Fancy Flourish behind it. I wrapped some gold cord around for the diagonal elements and popped up a glittered gold Die-namics Star STAX die cut. I put a clear faceted button, tied with more gold cord, on the star.

Here’s the inside with another sentiment from the set.

    Just a Note

    justanote_2012sep6

Happy Monday! And Happy Labor Day to my US and Canadian visitors! Hope you’ve got some fun and relaxing plans for today :) I’m in the midst of a mini kitchen remodel so no relaxing for me!

In honor of the holiday, eclectic Paperie is having a one day only sale today! It’s a 25% off storewide sale so head on over to the store for all the details. If you’re getting the newsletter (and if not why aren’t you, LOL?) there will be some updates about new products in tomorrow’s issue. To start getting the newsletter, go to the eclectic Paperie store and sign up!

This card is using some gorgeous papers from the
eclectic Paperie store—Basic Grey’s Plumeria. I chose a neutral pattern for my background and I’m not sure if you can tell or not (click on the photo for a closer view), but after I stitched the background paper to my dark gray layer, I sanded the edges with my Idea-ology Sanding Grip Block loaded with Idea-ology Sanding Grip Refill. I use this little gadget all the time—love it for distressing edges as well as for smoothing rough card stock edges. After I sanded, I sponged the edges with my Inkssentials Foam Blending Tool and Antique Linen Distress Ink.

I then added some colorful strips using my MFT Die-namics Fishtail Flags STAX dies and some Dot N’ Go -  Mini Glue Dots, then I stamped a sentiment from More Essential Sentiments on a Die-namics Designer Labels 3 STAX  with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and made a flower using Die-namics Pretty Posies and Die-namics Royal Leaves. I popped the sentiment die cut up on Scotch Foam Mounting Tape and added a center to my flower with a brad from Plumeria – Mixed Brads.

Here’s the inside of the card with another sentiment from More Essential Sentiments.

    Eek! - Crazy 4 Challenges #152

    C4C152_2012sep1

Happy Saturday, everyone! It’s Crazy 4 Challenges time and this week Andrea is challenging us to use Halloween colors: green, purple, and orange. Love Halloween colors!

I let my paper do most of the work on this card—the paper is from an old DCWV mat stack that I found in my stash and that worked perfectly for a frightfully cute CAS card. This card really was super easy. Using an
MFT Sour Apple card stock base, I added a layer of Black licorice card stock and then my patterned paper. I tied around some ribbon with all the colors and then added the letters, made with my Die-namics By the Letters dies. The exclamation point is the letter “I” upside down, and the letters are popped up on foam dots.

Here’s the inside with a sentiment and image from
Trick or Treat With Who’s That Girl. They were stamped on Whip Cream card stock and the pumpkin was colored with Copic markers.

And that's all for me for me! Be sure to checkout what the rest of the design team has for you!

THEN, you know what to do--we'd love to have you come along and play with us. Just do your thing with the challenge and link it to Mr. Linky on the Crazy 4 Challenges blog. Please link directly to your project. And, if you upload to a public gallery, please use the key word C4C152.

Thanks so much for stopping by today!
