Bleeding heart - Stamp Simply #124

Are you ready for a new Stamp Simply challenge? Sharon's got another fun one for us today: Bleeding Heart. She wants us to use a heart and the color red on our card or project.

For my card, I decided to take Sharon very literally and go with Flourishes' Bleeding Heart flower stamp from their Spring Ephemerals set. I stamped it on some paper from Basic Grey's Scarlett's Letter paper. I LOVE that collection and am hoarding what I have left, but it was just too perfect for this project--that silhouette flower works so well with this paper. I stamped the image with SU! Basic Black Craft ink and heat embossed with black detail embossing powder. I find if I use black ink and black powder that I get much better coverage than either one alone. I'm using Mercy's sketch for this week, so for the scalloped interest at the bottom, I used some heavy black lace. Card stock is Riding Hood Red and Basic Black. I stamped the sentiment with Versafine Onyx Black for the excellent coverage it provides, punched it out, matted it, and popped it up on a 3M foam square. The image element is also popped up, on Pop Dots. Lastly, I added some red crystals to the lace and the sentiment. I love how it turned out! And hey, look--no ribbon, no buttons ;-)

So, now it's your turn. Come along and play and take us up on the challenge--we'd love to see what you come up with. If you do, be sure to leave the link to your project on Sharon's blog using Mr. Linky. Please use the keyword ssnotime124 if you upload to a public forum. And don't forget to check out Sharon's fabulous sample and also the great designs from the Stamp Simply team and leave 'em some love!
