Polka Dot Birthday Wishes - Crazy 4 Challenges #18

Are you ready for the first Crazy 4 Challenges challenge of 2010??? Our amazing Lori Boyd is our hostess this month and she's got some FUN lined up for us! This week we're to use polka dots in our card or project. I'm loving it because it gave me a chance to use my PTI Polka Dot Basics II set again--must practice to get it right, KWIM? ;-)

And, I decided to practice some more with my Giga Guide Lines stamps, too. They look so good together, don't you think? I used Guide Lines paper and used the Guide Lines set as well as the Giga set. I must have been tired of Christmas colors without knowing it because I've been going BRIGHT ever since Christmas!! For this card, I used Raspberry Fizz and True Black. I really must be missing Primas, too, LOL! The birthday sentiment is from the Giga Guidelines set and it was stamped on PTI White and cut/embossed with a Labels Five Nestabilities die and popped up on 3M foam squares. My flower center is another one of those designer thumb tacks with the tack cut off and glued down with Crystal Effects and I added some punched leaves. I love how this card turned out--I'm definitely getting better at lining up those polka dots!

NOW
, be sure to check out the samples by the rest of the crazies...er, I mean the Crazy 4 Challenges team ;-)

  13. Hi Barb, It has been a while since I commented on your cards since they come by feedblitz to my email. Sorry to not have taken the time. BUT...You are SOOO very talented and your cards are ALWAYS so well thought out, and colored and creative. When you first used the dot background and groused about it not being perfectly lined up, I thought it is like the Navajo rugs where they put a mistake into their weaving on purpose to show all that we are imperfect creatures and we can not always have everything just so. Otherwise go buy a card that has been mass produced to get a perfect one. But it won't be as nice as your stunning creations. I really like the dots and the Victorian background and the pink/black combo. You did good! Hugs from an old (part)Indian. Martha
