Inspired by the Wild, Wild West–February new Product Tour

newproducttour1_2013feb4a

Hi, all, and welcome to February’s New Product Tour! I’m showing you Inspired by the Wild Wild West and I have several cards using it and lots of photos, so just sit back and enjoy :)

For my first card, I used the horseshoe image from the set. I stamped the image twice, colored them both with Copic markers and fussy cut one out. I cut the other one out with my Die-namics Designer Labels 3 STAX, popped it up on my card base, and popped the fussy cut one up on that. Next, I die cut a sign with my Die-namics LJD Howdy Frames. I first stamped it with the woodgrain image from LJD Western Backgrounds with Kraft ink and then with the sentiment from Inspired by the Wild Wild West in Black Licorice ink. Then I hung it from the corner of my STAX element with some hemp cord. I added a Die-namics Leaf-Filled Flourish and a Die-namics Sunflower along with more hemp cord. You can also see a Die-namics Fishtail Flags STAX die cut peeking out from under it all :)

Here’s a shot of the popped up horseshoe:

And one of the sign:

Here’s the inside, with another sentiment from the set and the horseshoe again, stamped off a couple of times.

My second card was totally inspired by a sentiment in another new set and this month’s Triple Scoop: Western Sentiments. I was bemoaning the fact that there was no cactus image in the set when EUREKA!!! I had a light bulb moment, coming up with the idea of how to make one with Die-namics dies instead!

First, I cut out the narrow portion of my Die-namics Chat Bubbles for the main trunk from Sour Apple Card Stock. Using more Sour Apple, I cut out one of the arrows from Die-namics Lead the Way and trimmed off the arrow part. I used this because it had the right curve I needed for the side “limbs”. Then I embossed the pieces with small dots and sponged the edges with ink. Lastly, I adhered the pieces together and added them to the card.

And, see the red hills in the background? Totally my DH’s idea, LOL! He saw a scrap in my trash can that was the negative of my Die-namics Solid Skyline and immediately he thought of Monument Valley (Google it if you don’t know what it is :)) As soon as he said it I agreed and knew I’d use it on a card one day. So, I cut it from Tangy Orange card stock, did some embossing and sponging and used it for my background. I LOVE how this turned out!

Here’s a close up of the cactus and *my* Monument Valley :)

You also see the new
Die-namics Barbed Wire Fence with which I’m in LOVE!!! I cut the posts from Kraft card stock and the wire from Steel Gray card stock, then popped the posts up for some dimension. Too cute, this is! The grass, of course, was made with my Die-namics Fresh Cut Grass. Here’s a close up of the whole fence:

This sentiment is from Inspired by the Wild Wild West and was stamped on Whip Cream card stock cut with a die from Die-namics LLD Accent It – Labels and Tabs with a Die-namics Star STAX accent.

And here’s the inside, with the sentiment that inspired this card:

For this card, I went a little girlie ;-) I stamped the boots image and colored it with Copic markers then did some distressing and layering. I used my Die-namics simply Scallops Medium, some stitching, and a Steel Gray button as an accent.

Here’s a close up of the image:

And one of the sentiment on the inside, also from Western Sentiments:

For my last card I went a little subtle with my coloring. I stamped the image on Kraft card stock and cut it out with the new Die-namics Hexagon STAX and only colored the background of the image, which really brought the horse and rider into the foreground, I think. Here’s a close up of that.

The sentiment was stamped on a Die-namics Mini Tab Foursome and caught up in the stitching.
