Who's That Birthday Girl - My Favorite Things Teaser Day Five

Here we are at the last day of teasers for My Favorite Things' March release! Are you lovin' what you've seen? Oh, yeah, I thought so :) Today I have this month's Who's That Girl and she's been in the kitchen again, LOL. This time she whipped up a big ol' birthday cake!

Years ago, I took a cake decorating class and actually made lots of cakes for fun and profit. I loved doing wedding and tiered birthday cakes, so I decided to decorate this one up with some tiny flowers and pearls. I stamped the image on a Perfect Paper Panel with Memento Rich Cocoa ink and did a little coloring with Copic markers, but WTG's dress and the cake are paper pieced--I think the rest is pretty obvious.

Thank you - Color Throwdown #82

OK, peeps, it's time for another Color Throwdown! Today, LeAnne is our hostess and she's challenging us to use Old Olive, Not Quite Navy, Ruby Red, and Very Vanilla--a gorgeous combination!
I'm not sure where I was going with this card but here's where I ended up, LOL!


I'm using the current Sweet Sunday Sketch--#58 for my layout. I think it's pretty straight-forward in design. I love these poofy flowers--could you tell? Well, my friend and CTD team mate, Tammy, made one last week and alternated patterned paper with text paper for the layers and I loved it! So, I'm CASEing her idea today--in triplicate, LOL! It gives the flower a softer look than one with all patterned paper, IMO.

I almost didn't do any stamping for this card, actually. I was "finished" before I realized that and while that would have been "OK" I just couldn't leave it that way ;-) So I stamped a sentiment from PTI's Mother set on a scrap of Vintage Cream card stock and attached it to the ribbon.

Heart Sings - My Favorite Things March Teaser Day Four

It's Jolinne teaser time! My Favorite Things will be releasing two new Jolinne sets tomorrow night. This one is called Heart Sings. Isn't she beautiful!?

I stamped the image on a Perfect Paper Panel with Memento Rich Cocoa ink and colored it with Copic markers. Then I cut it out with a Curved Rectangle Nestabilities die and lightly sponged the edges with Bermuda Bay ink. I printed a piece of sheet music that I found online and matted, stitched, and sponged it. The I punched out a butterfly from the music and added some turquoise flat backed pearls to it's body. A pretty ribbon tied around finished it off.

FTTC #56 - Scallops

It is time for Flourishes Timeless Tuesday Challenge(FTTC56)! This week Cindy Haffner is our host. Cindy is challenging us to use scallops. Whether you add scalloped shells, tiny scallop borders, or scalloped frames, we would love to see what you create using scallops on your cards this week!

I'm using the daffodil stamp from A Year In Flowers Set 1 for my card today. I'm working my way through the months, but I decided I'm done with winter and I'm ready for Spring. Nothing signals the beginning of Spring like daffodils and, actually, mine are poking up out of the soil now, so it won't be long :) In fact, I have some of these pale yellow narcissus with the orange cup very much like my image and can't wait to see them!

I stamped the image on Flourishes Classic White card stock with Memento Rich Cocoa ink and colored it with Copic markers in the Daffodil, Tigerlily, and Evergreen collections. Then I cut/embossed it with a Classic Oval Nestabilities die. I'm using a scallop punch on the bottom of the striped layer and as a mat for my image. I did some sewing and sponging, then added some gold flat backed pearls and a silky ribbon, and added the sentiment, cut with a Spellbinders label tag to finish if off. My base card is Flourishes Classic Ivory card stock. I'm using TESC #102 for my layout.

Boy and His Dog: Dog-Gone Cute - MFT Teaser Day Three

Would you just look at this little urchin!?? Is that not the sweetest little boy and his dog??? Today we're sneaking peeks of March's Pure Innocence line at My Favorite Things. There are five new sets and they're all just as cute as this one! This set is called Boy & His Dog: Dog-gone Cute. And it is!

I stamped the image on a Perfect Paper Panel with Memento Rich Cocoa ink and colored it with Copic markers. The layer under the image is a manilla tag from Office Max. I brushed two colors of Ranger Distress Ink over the surface and then spritzed it with water and let it sort of run and soak in. For the twill, I also brushed the ink pads over it to get a distressed look. I'm liking it. The sentiment is stamped on a piece of Kraft on which I drew a dog bone free hand and cut out. All edges are sponged for an distressed look. The doggy was stamped, colored, cut out, and popped up on Pop Dots.
