MFT Design Team Announcement/Reveal

I've got an MFT card to show you but first I have a little something else to share.

Happy, happy, joy, joy! Kim is announcing the MFT Design Team members for the next term and I couldn't be happier to be staying!! This past year has been awesome--Kim and MFT just simply ROCK and I'm so thrilled to be working with the super talented designers on the team! In fact, she's announcing a couple of new teams in addition to the MFT Design Team. They are the MFT Scrap & Arts Team and the MFT Challenge Team. To find out more about all of the teams and who's on them, check out Kim's blog :)

I made this card for a Papercrafts Connection challenge a while back--obviously I didn't win, LOL, but I loved the challenge: to use phone book pages on your project. Nothing is more appropriate for that than the Call Me set that I used. I stamped the image on a Perfect Paper Panel with Memento Rich Cocoa ink and colored it with Copic marker and Prismacolor pencils. I also did some paper piecing and cut my phone book paper with the Jumbo Scallop Die-namics die for a little interest. I don't know why my dark brown always looks black, but I assure you that ribbon is dark brown ;-) Other MFT products I used area Sour Apple card stock and buttons from the Spring Collection.

Thanks for stopping by! Don't forget to hop on over to Kim's blog to get the news!

~Supplies~
Stamps: Call Me (MFT)
Paper: Sour Apple, Perfect Paper Panels (MFT); Very Vanilla (SU); phone book pages; Fly a Kite 8 x 8 pad (October Afternoon)
Ink: Memento Rich Cocoa; Vintage Touch Tea Dye ink (PTI)
Accessories: Cuttlebug (Provocraft); Curved Rectangles Nestabilities, Tag Trio (Spellbinders); ribbon (craft store); buttons (MFT); twine (PTI); Jumbo Scallop Die-namics Die (MFT); Copic markers; sewing machine

Time For a Date Night

I thought this card would be cute to give to my DH :) I made one of these tent cards several weeks ago and it was lots of fun so I decided to make another one--this one with MFT's What a Day set. The clock was cut out of some patterned paper from the At Home collection by DCWV--all of the patterned paper is from the same collection, actually. The sentiments are stamped on more patterned paper with Memento Rich Cocoa ink. To accommodate the clock, I had to cut the window out with my largest Classic Oval Nestabilities die and then there was no scalloped die large enough for "trim" around the oval. So, I scrunched up two rows of 3/8" twill around to dress up the opening a little--I tried one row and it looked too skimpy so I added another. I'm not entirely happy with that part but it is what it is ;-) The tent card technique was just perfect for this clock image--I love how it dangles in the opening. Another MFT product I used was Fossil card stock--which is a staple of my card stock collection. Love it!

Thanks for stopping by today!

~Supplies~
Stamps: What a Day (MFT)
Paper: Fossil card stock (MFT); Blue Bayou (SU!); At Home 12 x 12 pad (DCWV)
Ink: Memento Rich Cocoa
Accessories: Cuttlebug (Provocraft); Classic Oval Nestabilities, Tag Trio (Spellbinders); twill; Vintage button/Rustic Twin (PTI); ScorTape

MFT's Greatest Hits - Flopsey

Are you ready for another My Favorite Things Greatest Hits? This month we're doing Flopsey! I love me some Flopsey, the sweetest little bunny in the WORLD!! I'm doing Sweetie Pie Flopsey--to see what the rest of the DT has done with Flopsey, be sure to check Kim's blog at 11:00am EDT this morning for the line up--I can't wait! And if seeing all that cuteness wouldn't be enough, Kim is offering a discount on all Flopsey sets! Here are the details: Use the code FLOPSEY and get $3.00 off any Flopsey set! This code will be valid Thursday June 10th and Friday June 11th. Wowza, right!?

My Flopsey was stamped on a Cream Perfect Paper Panel with Memento Rich Cocoa ink and colored with Copic markers, then cut out--his hat was stamped on a white Perfect Paper Panel (temporarily out of stock). I used patterned paper from Basic Grey's Nook and Pantry and MFT's Hot Fudge and Fossil card stocks. I used my new fabulous Jumbo Ric Rak die and Grosgrain Texture Plate for the horizontal element, with a layer of MFT's new 3/8" twill. OMGosh! This twill is so awesome! Then I added some twine and buttons from the Summer and Chocolate Kiss collections for a little accent. My main bunny Flopsey has a sweet looking pie there--too bad it's not on my diet, LOL!

Here's the inside:

Thanks so much for stopping by! Hope you've enjoyed Sweetie Pie Flopsey--be sure to check out the rest of the DT's offerings today :) I'll be adding this card to my brand new Etsy shop later today if you're interested. Need a Father's Day card? I have one of them there, too :)

Happy Sunday! Gonna be another hot and humid day here in South Central Virginia. I might just stay inside and stamp. Need to do some watering, though, so I guess I'll be out in it for a while after all.

I'm using a new set called Wyatt Says Wow, stamped on a Perfect Paper Panel (temporarily out of stock) and colored with Copic markers. I used my Jumbo Scallop Die-namics die (also temporarily out of stock) to cut out the denim border, then added some 1" twill, some twine, and a couple of buttons.

Geeks Rule - Crazy 4 Challenges #40

Happy Saturday! That means it's time for another Crazy 4 Challenges challenge! Today, Mercy is challenging us to use pleats on our cards. What an awesome challenge! I'd been meaning to do that but never remembered it until it was too late! I'm here to tell you I've finally got pleats! And I love the look, so thanks, Mercy, for pushing me!

I'm using a brand-spankin' new MFT release called Who's That Geek Guy? Don't you love it!? I'll bet you know someone that this would be perfect for, right? It's gonna make a great birthday card for a very geek-y friend of mine.

I stamped the image on a Perfect Paper Panel with Memento Rich Cocoa ink. Then I paper pieced his shirt and the chair and colored the rest with Copic markers. My base card is a Fossil Notecard from MFT and I used more Fossil card stock, as well. I love this card stock--think Kraft. It's now a staple of my paper supply. My layout is pretty obvious, but I'll point out that I used a stamp in the set that's a set of binary numbers to stamp the Fossil layer of my sentiment piece--and that of the inside--with Versamark. Then I over stamped with the sentiment. Cute, huh? For my pleats, I simply stapled some pleats made from twill and topped them with a couple of buttons. I really like this card and it will be hard to part with it--but I will ;-)

Here's the inside:

And my geek friend *can* fix it, too.

This card also works for F4A15 on SCS.

NOW, be sure to check out the samples by the rest of my crazy girls...er, I mean the Crazy 4 Challenges team ;-) Our sponsor this week is Stamp N Plus Scrap N. Get all the deets at the C4C blog.
THEN, you know what to do--we'd love to have you come along and play with us. Just do your thing with the challenge and link it to Mr. Linky on the Crazy 4 Challenges blog. Please link directly to your project. And, if you upload to a public gallery, please use the key word C4C40.

Thanks so much for dropping in today! Can't wait to see your "pleated" cards!

~Supplies~
Stamps: Who's That Geek Guy (MFT)
Paper: Fossil note card, Fossil card stock, Perfect Paper Panel (MFT); Homeroom 8 x 8 pad (TCP Studio)
Ink: Memento Rich Cocoa; Versamark
Accessories: Cuttlebug (Provocraft); Jumbo Scallop Die-namics die (MFT); small oval and oval punches, notebook edge punch (SU!); buttons, twine (PTI); twill; staples/stapler; Copic markers

You're too sweet - Stamp Simply #142

June 4 - ssnotime142 - Sweet Stuff! - Today's challenge comes to us from Jenny Gropp. Jenny wants us to create a card or a project featuring something SWEET.... a cake, cupcake or candy! It can be a stamp image, paper or an embellishment -- whatever you have in your stash that fits the theme. Can't wait to see all your SWEET creations! Thanks so much Jenny!!!

How convenient that this challenge comes up right after the release of MFT's Pure Innocence Lollypop Girl set. Perfect! I decided to make a card and a tag for a treat bag (using MFT's cute little gusseted bags) full of peppermint sticks. Yum! I stamped the image on a Perfect Paper Panel with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored it with Copic markers along with paper piecing her dress, then I cut her 0ut and popped her up with Pop Dots. I used a Jumbo Scallop Die-namics die (temporarily out of stock) on the text paper and the Fresh Cut Grass die for, of course, the grass. Other MFT products I used are Sour Apple, Fossil, and Red Hot card stock, and the Summer button collection.

Here's a close up of the card.

A close up of the tag.

And a close up of the inside of the card.

So, now it's your turn. Come along and play and take us up on the challenge--we'd love to see what you come up with. If you do, be sure to leave the link to your project on Sharon's blog using Mr. Linky. Please use the keyword ssnotime142 if you upload to a public forum. And don't forget to check out Sharon's fabulous sample and also the great designs from the Stamp Simply team and leave 'em some love!

My Favorite Things June Blog Hop!

It's finally here!!! My Favorite Things' June Hop and Shop is NOW! So much to see this month, so let's get started! If you got here from Christina's blog you're right on track, if not, double back to Kim's blog 'cause that's the beginning, then work your way back here :)

I'm showing you Baby Makes Three. The Love Birds have a little baby now and isn't he adorable!? Well, *this* one is a "he" ;-)

I stamped the main image on a Perfect Paper Panel and colored it with Copic markers. I decided to do them up as blue birds because we're trying to get some residents for our blue bird box--maybe this will help, LOL! Then I cut/embossed with a Classic Circle Nestabilities die and sponged some color on with some Distress Ink while it was still in the die. I used the Jumbo Scallop Die-namics (temporarily out of stock) die for the horizontal element and added my embellishments. Other MFT products I used on the card are Sour Apple card stock, Summer button collection, and Summer Glittered Garnishes.

Included with the set is this sweet little sentiment and a stamp for the vital statistics. Doesn't this make a great birth announcement card?

OK, so now that they're a family, they need somewhere to live, right? So I decided to make them a home, a little rose-covered cottage...

You didn't really think I could stop with a card, did you? ;-)

I made the fish-scale roof with the Jumbo Scallop Die-namics die. You probably can't tell very well, but I used the wood grain paper from the Sheltering Tree digi paper pack for the roof.

A little gingerbread trim with the Scalloped Scallop die...

And the new Fresh Cut Grass die for the sweet little lawn ;-)

And baby makes three!

I think I'll put this out on our covered front porch--just to give any blue birds in the area the idea that they're welcome--what do you think? ;-)

So now you need to hop on over to the oh-so-creative Sherrie's blog and see what she has for you. I *know* you'll be amazed! And lest I forget, there's blog candy somewhere along the way. Your chances of winning it will be better if you comment on every designer's blog. I'm just sayin'...

Thanks for stopping by and have fun hopping and shopping!

~Supplies~

Sour Apple, Sheltering Tree digi paper pack, Fossil (MFT); Very Vanilla (SU!); Fly a Kite 8 x 8 pad (October Afternoon)

Clearly Sentimental About Vacations - MFT June Teaser, Day Five, CTD #95 , and CAS-tastic

I've got the last teaser for MFT's June release for you today. Today the Design Team is showing you three new sets: Clearly Sentimental About Vacations, WTG Goes Green, and Who's That Geek Guy. All very fun! To see more of these sets, go to Kim's blog at 11:00am and she'll have a list of who's sneaking some peeks. And don't forget the release party tonight at the Member Company Forum at Splitcoast from 8-10pm and the Hop and Shop right after starting at Kim's blog.

This post is also for The Color Throwdown Challenge and CAS-tastic Challenge. A triple hitter, LOL! However, I feel it's only fair to warn you that these cards are BRIGHT! You may wanna get out your shades before viewing, heh, heh.

Here are the colors that that wild-child LeAnne chose for the Color Throwdown Challenge:
I actually LOVE this color combo--my brand new BRIGHT Delovely paper is perfect for it. OK, the green is not *exactly* Green Galore but it's close, very close.

I really, really tried to make this card work for all three things--completely intending to make it CAS but it just wouldn't STAY CAS, KWIM? I stamped the sentiment on a Perfect Paper Panel with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and cut/layered it with Classic Oval Nestabilities. I also use my Jumbo Scallop Die-namics die (temporarily out of stock) on the pink border. I was thinking since this is a vacation sentiment and the paper looks very tropical to me, I should add some tropical flowers. Trouble is, I don't have any tropical flowers, so I punched out some and added some buttons from the Spring button collection. I also used MFT's Sour Apple card stock.

Here's the inside with another sentiment from the set.

Remember, you do not have to have the exact colors to play. If you don't, just use the closest you have. So, c'mon over to the Color Throwdown blog and play along with us this week. Please use the link service to post your card and please link directly to your card so we can find it easily. And please include a link in your post to the Color Throwdown. If you upload your card to a public forum, please use the keyword CTD95 so we can see your beauty all in one place. Hope to see you there! Be sure to check out what the other team members have come up with this week! And just a little announcement we have: Laura Pryor will be joining the team full time, starting today! Be sure to give her some love! Our June Guest Designer is Wanda Cullen--be sure to give her some love, too!

Broni Holcombe--Splashes of Watercolor
Danielle Kennedy--Wild Dragonfly Designs
LeAnne Pugliese--Wee Inklings
Tammy Hershberger--Stamp Happy
Kristin Beuter--Mindless Creativity
Laura Pryor - Lil' Inker Designs
Wanda Cullen - Cullen-ary Creations

So, since the first card went rocketing out of CAS range, I did another one--same papers, same stamp set. The CAS-tastic Challenge this week is to have a sentiment as the focal image, hence this card with another sentiment from the set. I used the Scalloped Scallop die for the central border and both scallop dies for the inside.

And yet another sentiment for the inside.

I hope you'll play along with the CAS-tastic Challenge this week, and don't forget to check out my team mates' creations :)

Bath Time - MFT June Teaser, Day Four

Here we are at day four of the MFT June teasers! Today we're showing you two new Jolinnes--In My Garden and All Dressed Up and Bath Time Mini which was in a kit several months ago and now will be available on its own. Obviously, I'm showing you Bath Time Mini today :) I love these little die cut gable boxes that were part of a different kit and are just perfect for some hand made soaps I got at a craft fair--it makes a sweet little giftie along with a card.

I stamped the images on Perfect Paper Panels with Memento Rich Cocoa ink and mostly paper pieced, with a little Copic coloring, and sponged the edges of all of the elements except the images. Add a few vintage-type embellishments and it was done. Other MFT products I used: Sno Cone and Fossil card stock.

Here's the inside, using a Scalloped Scallop Die-namics border die:

Gardeners Know the Best Dirt - MFT Teaser, Day Three

It's Pure Innocence teaser day so it must be Monday! Happy Monday and Happy Memorial Day to my US readers! MFT has three new Pure Innocence sets for you this month. I know, I know! They just keep coming, don't they ;-) I'm showing you Pure Innocence Mud Buddies and if you'll hit Kim's blog at 11:00am EDT today, she'll have a list of the other designers posting teasers today and I'm sure you'll see more of this set plus Pure Innocence Lollypop Girl and Pure Innocence A Cart Full of Friends.

Anyone who knows me knows I love to garden so I just had to do this one for my teaser today. Just look at her in her overalls and her Wellies!!! OMGosh--how stinkin' cute is she?! I thought a card holding a package of seeds would be a cute thing to do, but I wanted something a little different with this image. So, I made up a pot shaped card. I drew it free-hand so I don't have a template and I didn't take pictures since I was making it up as I went along. But I'll tell you its a "U" shaped card, not a "V" shaped one. I made two score marks at the top, 1/8" apart, so there would be room inside for the seed package. Hope all that made some sense, LOL. If not, shoot me an email and I'll try to explain it better. I stamped the image on a Perfect Paper Panel with Memento Rich Cocoa ink and colored it with Copic markers. Then I cut her out and popped her up on a little scene with some digi paper from the Sheltering Tree pack and some torn Fossil card stock (did I mention that I love this cardstock!?). Cut that out with a Nestabilities die and the rest was embellishing. I used little flat backed pearls for the seeds. Buttons are from MFT's Summer collection (blue button) and Chocolate Kiss collection (brown buttons). Before I started adding stuff to the base card, I did some shading for the pot rim with Copic markers and sponged on some green distress ink to simulate moss. It shows up better in real life, but I think it could stand to be darker.

Here's the inside--a simple pocket for the seed from patterned paper and a fun sentiment, also from the set.

Thanks so much for stopping by! Don't forget to stop by Kim's blog this morning for the list, and the Guest Designer Challenge deets are over at the Member Company Forum on SCS. The release party is also at SCS, Wednesday evening from 8:00-10:00pm EDT with the Shop and Hop starting at 10:00 at Kim's blog. The Guest Designer Contest winner will be announced at the party, so get your entry in for a chance to win all of the July release stamps and to join the DT for the July release!

Today is also my two-year blogaversary! I can't believe how the time has flown!! I'll be offering up some blog candy soon as a celebration, so keep an eye out for it!

I'll be back tomorrow with another teaser :)

I stamped Emma on a Perfect Paper Panel with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored her with Copic markers and paper pieced her dress. The winner will receive all of the new stamp sets for the July release plus join the MFT Design Team for that month's release! Fun!!

And third, it's Crazy 4 Challenges day! Frances is our host today and she's challenging us to make a tent card. Well, I had never made one of these but they're super easy! And Frances is right--they're fun! She has a link to some directions on the C4C blog so check it out and play along with us!

OK, now for my Some Like It Hot/Crazy 4 Challenges project! I found this adorable tea towel in my travels and it became the inspiration for a cute little gift set. Loved the bright colors--just so cheerful and happy, don't you think? Here's the complete set.

In addition to the sentiment on the card, which is from Thanks a Bunch, I'm using In the Background for the tea kettle...

Coffee? Tea? for the paper pierced mug, and Hot Stuff for the tea bag cover sentiment.

Inside of the tea bag holder.

Other MFT products that I'm using are: Sour Apple card stock and Spring and Summer button collections.
