Millie the Mouse - My Favorite Things Teaser, Day Two

Ready for some more MFT goodness? This is a new character, Millie the Mouse, and she's happy :) I paper pieced Millie with some tiny polka dot paper from the Victoria 6 x 6 pad from 7 Gypsies and then popped her up on some Pop Dots. I used a couple of other patterns, but repeated the tiny dots on the middle element. I thought it looked a little plain, so I stamped some swirls from Boho Blossoms around the edges and sponged some Scattered Straw Distress Ink on the edges.

Here's the inside:

Clearly Sentimental About Birthdays - My Favorite Things Teaser, Day One

[If you're looking for my Crazy 4 Challenges card, please scroll down to the next post. Thanks!]

Let the sneaks begin! Are you ready for a look at the April releases? I thought so ;-) My card for you today is using Clearly Sentimental About Birthdays. You may remember it was last month's Triple Scoop set. As I may have mentioned before, I love sentiments that can act as focal images and this Clearly Sentimental line at My Favorite Things is a champ at that!

I've been playing with Distress Inks again and inked up another label on which I stamped the sentiment. I sponged on several colors that blended with my patterned paper--Life's Portrait by Webster's Pages, spritzed it with water, dried it with my heat tool, and stamped the sentiment with Versafine Onyx Black. A sheer ribbon, some black crystals, and some tiny Prima roses finished the card off. I love the Shabby Chic romantic look.

Here's the inside:

Let's get crafty with Kraft - Crazy 4 Challenges #31

Mornin', peeps! Oh, my, but yesterday was a spectacular day here in South Central Virginia and today promises to be another one. We did some yard work and there's much more to be done so we'll be back outside in the sun and fresh air again today. But first, I have some goodies for you :) It's Crazy 4 Challenges day, and this month's host is Lynda, who is challenging us to use Kraft. SO not a challenge for me, LOL, as I do love it. Our sponsor this week is The Greeting Farm and you can find out more at the C4C blog.

Now, for my card. Notice the little play on words--crafty and Krafty? I feel so clever ;-) I was itching to use this PTI set that had never seen ink so I dragged it out and inked it up. I stamped the little button jar from Studio Style on Stampers Select White card stock with Memento Rich Cocoa ink and colored it with Copic markers. Then I cut/embossed it and its mats with Classic Circle and Scalloped Circle Nestabilities in Hawaiian Shores and Dark Chocolate--I lOVE that combination!! Then I stamped a piece of Hawaiian Shores with Dark Chocolate (looks black but I promise it's Dark Chocolate) using Polka Dot Basics II. Then I stamped the sentiment on another piece of Stampers Select White with Dark Chocolate and added buttons. I'm using Taylor's sketch #107 for my layout. I couldn't pass up a sketch encouraging this many buttons, LOL!

NOW, be sure to check out the samples by the rest of my crazy girls...er, I mean the Crazy 4 Challenges team ;-)
THEN, you know what to do--we'd love to have you come along and play with us. Just do your thing with the challenge and link it to Mr. Linky on the Crazy 4 Challenges blog. Please link directly to your project. And, if you upload to a public gallery, please use the key word C4C31.

Thanks so much for dropping in today! A little bit later, I'll have the first MFT teaser for the April release so c'mon back!

Hi - Stamp Simply #133

Wow! Sharon has a challenge I need today! Seriously need. Actually, Janine chose this week's challenge, and here's what Sharon has to say:

Friday, April 2 - ssnotime133 - CHIPBOARD -- Today's challenge comes to us from Janine. (Thank you, Janine!) Here's what Janine says: I have a whole box of chipboard pieces that I never seem to use as often as I would like... This week's challenge is dig out a chipboard piece that you have and design your card or project around that piece or pieces if you like! If you don't have any chipboard pieces then you can use a whole piece of chipboard or an empty cereal box, use one of your dies and cut your own. Or cut it out freehand.. Let those creative juices flow and see where your chipboard takes you!

Like Sharon, I've got lots of chipboard that I forget to use, so this is a GREAT challenge for me! I'm using this week's SCS sketch for my layout--which I love! And the stamping couldn't be any simpler since there's NONE on this card, LOL!

I found these chipboard letters at Michaels a while back. I bought them just 'cause I thought it would be a good idea to have them on hand--you know how that goes, right? Well, I finally found a use for them. I like the whimsical look of the different sizes and colors, too. Card construction is pretty simple, really, I just followed the sketch, added some Prima flowers from my huge stash, and punched out several sizes of butterflies for accents.

So, now it's your turn. Come along and play and take us up on the challenge--we'd love to see what you come up with. If you do, be sure to leave the link to your project on Sharon's blog using Mr. Linky. Please use the keyword ssnotime133 if you upload to a public forum. And don't forget to check out Sharon's fabulous sample and also the great designs from the Stamp Simply team and leave 'em some love! And, help us give a huge welcome to this month's guest designer: Teresa Kline of Enjoy the VA Sunshine!

Happy Anniversary

I've got a sweet little PTI card for you today. I needed an anniversary card and I thought this would do the trick.

For the base, I'm using the new Green Boutique patterned paper and some Hawaiian Shores card stock, along with Stampers Select White. This paper is full of color so I went a little more open with the next element for balance--I stamped the design with Guidelines and Guidelines II to make patterned paper to match. I stamped the sentiment, from Signature Greetings, on Stampers Select White, matted it with Hawaiian Shores, and added two buttons, tied with Rustic Twine.

As always, thanks for stopping by today--I love it when you do! I'll have a REALLY fun Stamp Simply card for you tomorrow :)
