Wishing You Happiness–CTD #206

CTD206_2012aug22

Happy Wednesday, everyone! I’m back with my Color Throwdown Challenge card. Kerri chose this week’s colors based on this lovely inspiration piece.

swatch 206

Nice, sweet colors, perfect for a wedding card. Which was precisely what I needed for this coming Saturday! I’ll be taking it and the gift card to the wedding, so I’ll just wrap them both in a box and tie it up with ribbon :) Hmmm, I hope she doesn’t read my blog, LOL! Don’t think she does.

Anyway! I wanted it mostly white with just some pops of color, so I made the base of lots of layers of MFT’s Sweet Tooth card stock. Some layers were embossed and some cut out with my Die-namics Designer Labels 3 STAX dies. The sentiment panel was cut from part of the Die-namics Well Worn Greetings Die Only with foam tape between layers. Then I adhered a Die-namics Royal Rose, a couple of Die-namics Rolled Flowers, and some Die-namics Upsy Daisy leaves. I swiped some white pigment ink over the flowers to highlight them a bit, and added pearls to the rolled flowers. There’s a Die-namics Leafy Flourish die cut peeking out from under the “bouquet”, too.

Here’s the inside, with a sentiment from Clearly Sentimental About Romance.

VIPboth_2012aug21

Hi, all! It’s time for that magical mid-month event—the MFT VIP Collection!!

VIP_BlogTitle

What’s the VIP Collection, you ask? It’s a LIMITED QUANTITY product that gives you the opportunity to purchase upcoming stamp sets and a new Die-namics die TWO WEEKS early. The mini set that is included in the VIP kit for free will be EXCLUSIVE to the VIP kit and will never be available for purchase. This month’s VIP Collection is available right now, right HERE! To see what the rest of the design team has come up with using these sets, be sure to check out the MFT Blog.

We have a couple of PI cuties for you this month: PI – Prehistoric Girl and PI – Owl Costume. A-dorable!!

MFT_OwnYourStory_PreviewGraphic
Here’s what’s in this month’s collection:

Pure Innocence Prehistoric Girl stamp set
Pure Innocence Owl Costume stamp set
Costumed Cuties Sentiments mini (VIP exclusive stamp set - will never be offered for sale or be available again $9 value, FREE)
Peek-a-Boo Trio Die-namics

I have a card using each of the sets for you tonight, first up, PI-Prehistoric Girl. I decided to create a little scene with her—actually, I couldn’t resist it.

VIP_bone_2012aug21

First, I stamped her on Neenah Classic Crest Cover, Solar White Smooth, 130lb paper with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored her with Copic markers, paper piecing her “dress”. Then I fussy cut her out and popped her into the scene. I’m using Die-namics Cloud Trio, Die-namics Fresh Cut Grass for the obvious reasons, but I’m using some other Die-namics in out-of-the-box fashion. The light brown “earth” right behind her was done with Natural card stock and Die-namics Wonky Scallop Border. I think it gives the illusion of not-too-distant grassless low hills. The taller green hills in the background were done with Die-namics Jumbo Cloud STAX. Love the versatility of Die-namics dies!! The sentiment is from the mini set included in the VIP Collection and was stamped on a Die-namics Traditional Tags STAX and added to a twine-tied Tangy Orange button. I’m also using Jellybean Green card stock, Sour Apple card stock, Tangy Orange card stock, and Sweet Tooth card stock.

Here’s the inside with another sentiment from the mini set:

And here’s my second card, using PI – Owl Costume. I’m using this month’s Guest Designer Sketch for this card. You can get all the details about *that* at the Guest Designer thread at the MFT Member Forum at SCS.

OK, then. I stamped this little sweetie on Neenah Classic Crest Cover, Solar White Smooth, 130lb paper and colored her with Copic markers. Then I matter her with Black Licorice card stock and stamped the sentiment, also from the mini set, on a Die-namics Mini Tab Foursome die cut and attached it to the main image panel. I did some stitching, added some Black Licorice grosgrain ribbon, and popped the image up on foam tape. Then I added a big ol’ Sour Apple button tied with some Charcoal baker’s twine.

Here’s the inside with a sentiment from PI – Owl Costume.

Dream–C4C#150

C4C150_2012aug18

Hi, all, it’s Crazy 4 Challenges time! Today’s challenge is brought to us by Silke Ledlow and is a color challenge—we’re to use pink, blue, yellow, and green.

I had the perfect patterned paper to use so I went to town :) I’m using this month’s
MFT Guest Designer Challenge sketch for my layout—check out al the details HERE. And here’s the sketch:

MFTGUESTDT0912
Obviously, I flipped the sketch :) I’m using Die-namics Vertical Greetings die and a stamp from My Favorite Sentiments for my focal image. I used Whip Cream card stock, Kraft card stock, Whip Cream ribbon, and Bubblegum buttons on a Die-namics Mini Tabs Foursome die cut. I finished it off with some stitching, some twine, and a Die-namics Royal Rose and Die-namics Royal Leaves.

Here’s the inside with another sentiment from the set:

Mother–MFTWSC #85

MFTWSC85_2012aug15

Are you ready for another
MFT Wednesday Sketch Challenge? Here’s this week’s sketch. You can find the sketch on the MFT blog and also in the MFT forum on SCS, as well as in the weekly newsletter. The Design Team will be on hand to provide plenty of inspiration to get you started.

MFTWSC85
This week I tried to channel Tim Holtz, LOL! I basically CASE’d one of his gorgeous tags but substituted MFT products in the process. I really love how it turned out. So, essentially, I stamped the framed from Die-namics Vintage Cameo Frame Die & Stamp Set with black craft ink and embossed with black fine detail embossing powder, then stamped the cameo in the center. Then I dry embossed around it and added some paint with a dabber in turquoise. After that I did some sponging with a couple Distress Inks and tied on some seam binding. I finished up with some Die-namics Royal Roses made from Kraft Core paper (I LOVE this stuff and will be getting more!) and some Die-namics Royal Leaves. The sentiment was stamped on a Die-namics Mini Tabs Foursome die cut.

The base card has a
Die-namics Fishtail Flags STAX die cut and a border using my Die-namics Faux Crochet Border die cut. Some twine and some distressing finish it off :)

Here’s the inside with a sentiment from
Clearly Sentimental About Mothers.
