A Little Birthday Wish–C4C #204

Hi, all, and welcome to this week’s Crazy 4 Challenges! Today’s challenge is a sketch and what great sketch it is! I’m really loving this one and I’m pretty sure you’ll see it here again :)

I started with a Primitive White card stock base, and added a Die-namics Jumbo Fishtail Banner STAX element, cut from Kraft card stock and stamped with LJD Art Expression Text and Versamark. I tied some hemp cord around that and tied on a Tangy Orange button before layering on a Die-namics Fishtail Flags STAX element. I cut this out of Blu Raspberry card stock and stamped a flourish from Finishing Flourishes with Whip Cream pigment ink and head embossed with off white embossing powder. The sentiment element was created by cutting out a Die-namics Oval STAX 1 die and stamped the sentiment from LJD Birthday Greetings with Steel Gray ink. I matted this with a Tangy Orange card stock layer cut with Die-namics Oval STAX 2 with a Die-namics Leaf-Filled Flourish cut from Jellybean Green card stock sandwiched in between. That was popped up on foam and it was done!

For the inside, I stamped another sentiment from LJD Birthday Greetings.

I was so excited when I got the email from Kim at eclectic Paperie inviting me to participate in their birthday blog hop! Even though I’m no longer on the design team, I still do a fair bit of shopping there :)

For my card today I started with some patterned paper from Authentique’s Grace 8 x 8 pad. I matted it with some MFT Primitive Cream card stock and popped it up on a Primitive Cream card stock base. To created the stripes on each side, I adhered a strip of 1/8” ScorTape on the left and 1/4” ScorTape on the right, then sprinkled some of the new Tim Holtz Distress Glitter in Broken China. I pressed it down really well onto the ScorTape before shaking it off and I love the way it looks! This glitter is not “glitter-y” if you know what I mean. It looks really vintage and I’m thinking I’ll be using it a lot in the future.

The sentiment is from LJD Birthday Greetings from MFT and was stamped on an MFT Die-namics Designer Labels 3 STAX die cut with Steel Gray ink and Blu Raspberry ink, popped up on Scotch Foam Mounting Tape. I finished off everything by sponging with Vintage Photo Distress ink.

Thinking of You From Miles Away–MFTWSC #142

Hi, everyone, I’m back again with this week’s MFT Wednesday Sketch Challenge! Are you ready? Here’s this week’s sketch. All of the details about the sketch challenge are available on the MFT blog as well as in the weekly newsletter. The Design Team will be on hand to provide plenty of inspiration to get you started.




I let my Die-namics dies do all the work on this card :) I started with a Sweet Tooth card stock base, then added a piece of Sno Cone card stock for the sky. I stamped the flight trail from DC You Move Me with Steel Gray ink then adhered an airplane from Die-namics You Move Me, cut from Wild Cherry card stock.

Next, I created some trees with my Die-namics Wonky Scallop Border die and Sour Apple card stock and Jellybean Green card stock. I added a Die-namics Skyline Border cut from Steel Gray ink and behind it I put a Die-namics Solid Skyline cut from Black Licorice ink. To finish it off and “tie things together”, I tied around some red cord.

Autumn Birthday–CTD #260

Hi, everyone! I’m back with this week’s Color Throwdown challenge! This week my bestie, Tammy, has picked a gorgeous Autumn palette for us to work with.




I thought a birthday card in these colors would be great so I got to work. I stamped the dots from Large Scale Backgrounds, MFT’s Free With $60 set this month, on Baked Brown Sugar card stock with Versamark. Then I added a layer of Primitive Cream card stock with a sentiment stamped on a Die-namics First Place Award Ribbon flag. The sentiment is from LJD Pretty Poppies stamped with Whip Cream pigment ink and heat embossed with off white embossing powder. I popped it up on foam, then added a Die-namics Leaf-Filled Flourish cut from Pistachio Pudding and some Orchid Opulence and Tangerine Tango Die-namics Upsy Daisy flowers. I added some enamel dots for the centers.

For the inside, I stamped a sentiment from LJD Birthday Greetings.
