Hi, everyone, and welcome to this month’s MFT New Product Tour! I’m showing you Inspired by Time, and you should know that all of the new stuff you’ve been seeing over the last week is NOW available in the MFT Boutique! Also remember that one member of the Design Team is holding some blog candy and to have the best chance of winning it you should comment on each member’s post. That said, let’s get on with my projects for tonight!
For my first card, I paired the pocket watch from the set with a previously released set, Clearly Sentimental About Grandparents. I stamped the image on Sweet Tooth card stock and colored it with Copic markers. Then I stamped the “Grandpa” sentiment with Black Licorice Ink.
I wanted to keep this kinda CAS but not too plain, so I dressed up the corner with a Die-namics Photo Corners die cut and a little paper piercing.
Here’s the inside—the “gold” watch and this are perfect for a grandpa, don’t you think?
*****
For the second card I went vintage. I stamped the hour glass and colored it with Copic markers before cutting it out and popping it up.
I did some distressing and added some seam binding with a Kraft button and hemp cord. I also used some Die-namics Fishtail Flags STAX and Die-namics First Class Friend Die Only, along with Whip Cream card stock and Kraft card stock.
I stamped the sentiment on a Die-namics Traditional Tags STAX die cut and adhered it under the button.
Here’s the inside with another sentiment from the set.
*****
My third card is another CAS card. I stamped the image on Whip Cream card stock with Black Licorice Ink and, after cutting a window with my Die-namics Designer Labels 3 STAX in a Kraft card stock layer, adhered it so the image shows through the opening. Then I simply stamped the sentiment in the lower right corner and balanced it with black flat back pearls on the upper left corner. A Black Licorice card stock layer ties it all together.
Here’s the inside with the hour glass (stamped off once) and another sentiment from the set.
*****
My last card is a little tongue-in-cheek. First, I stamped a calendar using my Die-namics LLD Insert It – 3 x 4 Insert and LLD Journal It – Calendar Basics. Then I stamped the sentiment from Inspired by Time at the top. Then
I stamped the pocket watch on Whip Cream card stock and colored the watch case with Copic markers.
I stamped it again on matching patterned paper, cut it out with my Die-namics Circle STAX and popped it up on foam to give it some dimension.
After I cut it out with my Die-namics Designer Labels 3 STAX, I cut some clear acetate, again with my Die-namics Circle STAX, and adhered it to the watch face. To avoid seeing the glue, I applied a very thin line on the edge of the acetate circle with a glue pen. After it dried it didn’t show at all :)
To complete the tongue-in-cheek theme, I cut out the number “39” with my Die-namics High-Rise Numbers and stamped “again?” with Typewriter Alphabet.
Here are the products being released tonight that I used on these cards:
And that’s it! Thanks so much for stopping by! Now go shop :)
