Hello, friends! It’s time for a brand new Color Throwdown Challenge! Jodi is our hostess this week and was inspired by this gorgeous pillow for her color choices.
I’ve had this idea percolating in my head for a while, waiting for the right time to bring it to reality, and these colors did it :) I started with a Sweet Tooth card stock base, then applied an aqua watercolor wash to Ranger Watercolor Paper with Peerless Watercolors and a waterbrush. From more watercolor paper, I cut the triangle elements from Blueprints 25 Die-namics, and Dainty Scallop Cover-Up Die-namics, along with a thin oval frame cut with Oval STAX Set 1 Die-namics and Oval STAX Set 2 Die-namics.
I watercolored everything, cut a base and the cover-up to match the oval, and reassembled the pieces, popping the scallops up on foam mounting tape. I added the leaves, along with the sentiment, which was cut from Black Licorice card stock with Thanks & Hello Die-namics.
And that’s it from me! Remember, you do not have to have the exact colors to play the Color Throwdown challenge. If you don't, just use the closest you have. So, c'mon over to the Color Throwdown blog and play along with us this week. Please use the link service to post your card and please link directly to your card so we can find it easily. And please include a link in your post to the Color Throwdown. If you upload your card to a public forum, please use the keyword CTD405 so we can see your beauty all in one place, and use #ctd405 and #colorthrowdown on social media. Hope to see you there! Be sure to check out what the other team members have come up with this week, including our amazing guest designer, Wanda Guess!
