Hi, everyone, are you ready??!! All Smiles Card Kit is now available for purchase in the MFT Boutique! You’ve seen some amazing samples over the last couple of days from the design team and that’s just the tip of the creative iceberg—so many things you can do with this kit. Be sure to check by the MFT Blog for more info and more samples, then go snag yours! Remember, we now have a new free with $60 die available for our customers with every kit release. It will be the free die (while supplies last) for the duration of the month until the next release. The mid-month Free with $60 die for July is Slanted Sentiment Strips Die-namics.
For this post I decided to do a little home decor project. I decorated an unfinished wooden craft frame that can be given as a gift and the recipient can remove the center to insert a photo. I have just the person in mind for this little giftie :)
To begin, I painted it with white craft paint and sanded any rough areas. Next I did a watercolor wash on some Ranger Watercolor Paper with Peerless Watercolors, splattered with some clear water, and set it aside to dry. I did the same with another piece for the center. Then I stamped up a bunch of flowers and leaves with the kit set using Cotton Candy dye ink, Gumdrop Green dye ink, Lemon Drop dye ink, Orange Fizz dye ink, Persimmon dye ink, Pineapple dye ink, Ripe Raspberry dye ink, and Sour Apple dye ink, cut them out with the dies, and shaped them with my fingers to provide a little dimension. To add more dimension, I created the centers with hot glue and Orange Juice Prills, You Had Me At Yellow Prills, Go Man Go Prills. Love how realistic this looks!
Next I cut Twice the Smiles Die-namics four times and adhered them together for dimension, stamped the sentiment with Versamark on Black Licorice card stock cut with Slanted Sentiment Strips Die-namics, and heat embossed with white detail embossing powder.
By the time this was all done my watercolor paper was dry. I adhered it to the front of the frame, trimmed all around and cut out the center with a craft knife. I sanded the edges lightly to smooth them and adhered my flowers with hot glue. Next I assembled the insert elements, secured it into the frame, and it was done! Now I have a fun hostess gift ready and waiting for when I need it :)
Thanks so much for stopping by tonight! I hope I’ve inspired you to make something awesome with YOUR All Smiles Card Kit! See you soon!
