MFT March Release Countdown, Day One

Hey, peeps, here we are at the last day of March Release Countdown! Release is tomorrow, March 12th at 10am, Eastern so set your alarms. And be sure to stop by the MFT Blog today for all the details. Today we’re previewing Cute Critters Stamp Set, Cute Critters Die-namics,Kite Shaker Window & Frame Die-namics,Kite Shaker Pouches, Mini Staggered Raindrops Stencil, Tree Branch (Free with $60), and Rainy Day Bears Freebie (Free on Orders over $100).

For my first card today I’m using the amazing new Kite Shaker Window & Frame Die. I thought a kite flying free in the sky was a great metaphor for encouragement so I paired it with Anything-but-Basic Encouragement Stamp Set. I didn’t have the shaker pouches for this die so I just went with clear acetate card stock for the window. Otherwise I used Black Licorice card stock, Black and White Stripes Paper Pack, foam tape, and sequins and retired Prills to construct the shaker element. Since I was going to place it on top of the card front and not cut into the card front it was made separately and added.

To create the background, I stenciled Mini Cloud Edges, Stamped the Sentiment, added Grassy Hills Die-namics cut from Sour Apple card stock and Stitched Cloud Edges Die-namics,

To finish, I constructed the kite tail and adhered it to the kite, then adhered the whole thing to the card front.

My second card uses Cute Critters Stamp Set and Die-namics along with A2 Rectangle Frames.

First I sponged Grassy Edges Stencil with Sour Apple dye ink, then cut the center panel out with A2 Rectangle STAX Set 1. I sponged the sky and set it aside then stamped clouds on the remaining card front panel. The images were stamped on No Line Coloring card stock, cut out with the coordinating Die-namics, and colored with Copic markers.

Next I replaced the center panel, popped up on foam and I think you can see how I arranged the tree branch and clouds, I cut A2 Rectangle Frames from Black Licorice card stock, popped it up on foam as well, and heat embossed the sentiment on Heavyweight Vellum, After it was adhered with clear foam tape it was done!

And that’s it for
MFT’s March Release Countdown! Thanks so much for stopping by! Hope to see you back tomorrow for this month’s MFT and Friends feature!

  1. Wow, Barbara... both cards are just stunning and so cheerful! I love the effect of the frame in the second one. It almost looks like glass. ^_^
