Happy Holidays–Color Throwdown Challenge #565

Hey there, it’s time for a new
Color Throwdown Challenge! This week my good friend Jodi is hosting and she has some awesome colors inspired by her super cool inspiration piece!

When I first saw this color combo I wasn’t at all sure where I was going to go with it but then I thought: what about Christmas? I love unconventional colors used for Christmas so I tossed around some ideas and really was guided by the inspiration photo. I thought using Joyful Wreath Die-namics in the neutral colors would be pretty artsy so I need to add my color as my background. To do this I did a watercolor wash on Ranger Watercolor paper with Peerless watercolors and when it was dry spattered on some clean water and thinned down black acrylic ink.

I adhered the background directly to a Sweet Tooth card stock base after stamping the sentiment from Bitty Holiday Wishes with Extreme Black hybrid ink. The I cut Joyful Wreath Die-namics from Cement Gray, Silver Shine, and Heavyweight Vellum card stocks, arranged it and adhered it with hot glue. I finished off with black berries and the center Joy die cut and was done.

And that’s it from me! Remember, you do not have to have the exact colors to play the Color Throwdown challenge. If you don't, just use the closest you have. So, c'mon over to the
Color Throwdown blog and play along with us this week. Please use the link service to post your card and please link directly to your card so we can find it easily. And please include a link in your post to the Color Throwdown. If you upload your card to a public forum, please use the keyword CTD565 so we can see your beauty all in one place, and use #ctd565 and #colorthrowdown on social media. Hope to see you there! Be sure to check out what the other team members have come up with this week, including our super talented October Guest Designer, Rosemary Dennis!
