Hello and welcome to a brand new Color Throwdown Challenge! This week Amy Rohl is our hostess and she has an interesting color combo for us—basically neutrals but not monochromatic—interesting indeed!
I absolutely love Circle Celebration Background released by MFT a couple of months ago. I knew as soon as I saw it that I’d be using it a lot. I thought it would be perfect for an embossed resist background for this card. I stamped it on Ranger Watercolor paper with Versamark and heat embossed with clear detail embossing powder then did a watercolor wash with Ken Oliver Color Burst in Gamboge Yellow. and set it aside to dry.
Next I cut Grande Greenery – Solid Die-namics from Gravel Gray card stock and added some highlights with a fine line gray pen and Copic markers. I then cut Little Hello Die-namics from Translucent Vellum and Gold Shine card stock and adhered them together.
When the background was dry, I popped it up on a Gravel Gray card stock base with fun foam, added the greenery and hello sentiment, and finished off with some clear droplets.
And that’s it from me! Remember, you do not have to have the exact colors to play the Color Throwdown challenge. If you don't, just use the closest you have. So, c'mon over to the Color Throwdown blog and play along with us this week. Please use the link service to post your card and please link directly to your card so we can find it easily. And please include a link in your post to the Color Throwdown. If you upload your card to a public forum, please use the keyword CTD594 so we can see your beauty all in one place, and use #ctd594 and #colorthrowdown on social media. Hope to see you there! Be sure to check out what the other team members have come up with this week!
