Hello–CTD #330 + a Video

CTD330_2015feb18

Hi, everyone, it’s time for another Color Throwdown Challenge! This week Joan is our host and she has chosen a really pretty color combo for us to work with.

swatch 330

I’ve created a background using Open Hexagon Borders Die-namics and I have a video to show you how I went about it. I have a secret weapon for making sure all the hexagons are arranged evenly and I’ll show you all about it in the video. You can click on the button below or view it in HD HERE at my YouTube channel.

I’ll also do a brief run through for you here. I started with a Sweet Tooth card stock base. Then I found some already stamped backgrounds from my scraps drawer, along with plain card stock. I’m using Jellybean Green card stock, Sour Apple card stock, and Orange Fizz card stock. Background stamps I used are: Cheesecloth Background, Fine Check Background, Plaid Builder Background, Linen Background, Happy Birthday Background, and Swiss Dot Background, stamped with Jellybean Green dye ink, Black Licorice dye ink, Sour Apple dye ink, Orange Fizz dye ink, and Sweet Tooth pigment ink. I cut my hexagons using the middle size and adhered them to my base. Then I cut a piece of Steel Gray card stock, topped it with a piece of green glitter paper and popped it up on foam mounting tape. Next I added Happy Hellos Die-namics, cut five times from Steel Gray card stock. I adhered all the layers for dimension, adhered it to the glitter paper, and finished off with a few clear gems.

On the INSIDE is a sentiment from Get Well Wishes, stamped with Steel Gray dye ink.

And that’s it from me! Remember, you do not have to have the exact colors to play the Color Throwdown challenge. If you don't, just use the closest you have. So, c'mon over to the Color Throwdown blog and play along with us this week. Please use the link service to post your card and please link directly to your card so we can find it easily. And please include a link in your post to the Color Throwdown. If you upload your card to a public forum, please use the keyword CTD330 so we can see your beauty all in one place. Hope to see you there! Be sure to check out what the other team members have come up with this week, including our incredibly talented January Guest Designer, Jen Shultz and this week’s Guest Star Stamper, Amy White!
