Flourishes Friday - CASEing Leslie

Today is a sad one for the Flourishes Senior Design Team. Our sweet, sweet Leslie's last day was yesterday. She has decided to take more time for family and herself. While we so hate to see her go, we understand her reasons and wish her much happiness, so we're dedicating today's Flourishes Friday to her  by CASEing one of her cards.

I didn't get to work directly WITH Leslie very long, but I had the amazing experience of meeting her in person last year at CHA while I was on the Timeless Tuesday team. We walked the floor with Jan Marie all day one day "helping" her decide what to buy, but actually just having a wonderful time ooooing and aaaaahing over all the beautiful product. This last six months of designing side by side with her has also been amazing--she never ceases to inspire me and I often find myself with one of those slap-upside-the-head moments that makes you say to yourself: "Why didn't *I* think of that?!!"

Leslie, you have such a beautiful style and will be sorely missed on the Flourishes Senior Design Team. But, I know where to find you, girlie :) Love ya!

HERE is Leslie's card that I chose to CASE.

While Leslie did a coastal sunset using Forest Of Trees, I decided to use the same basic design, but go winter sunrise. I followed her lead and masked off my ground section on Classic White card stock, but instead of sponging, I used my Copic airbrush system to color in my sky and sun, then I stamped the trees. I decided to add a twine element and instead of stamping my sentiment ON the card, I added it on a little oval die cut.I love how it turned out--thank you, Leslie, for your never-ending inspiration.

Be sure to check out what the rest of the Flourishes team has for Leslie--I know you won't be disappointed.

Tammy Hershberger (filling in for Danielle Kennedy who was hit by Irene and just got power back!)
