Flourishes Art and Letters Noon-Time Challenge

Are you ready for a little challenge? Today’s Flourishes Noon-Time Challenge has to do with creating a little art :) I’m all about that so this challenge was right up my alley!

Arts & Letters Challenge Graphic copy

This challenge is a simple one -- make art out of... Letters! Whether it's a simple monogram, or a decorative word to share - the highlight of this card or creation has to be all about letters! If you upload to SCS, please use the keyword FLLCJUNERW2. All entries need to be in by June 15th at 5PM EST in order to be in the running to win our June release!

I’m using Letters In Blossom for my framed Christmas project. I used these soft pinks and greens in my living room and carry it through in my Christmas decorations for that room.

I started with an inexpensive prefinished 5 x 7 frame and distressed it up a bit with a sanding block and some distress stain. Then, I stamped the letters for “JOY” on

Classic White card stock with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink, colored them with these Copic Collections…

…sponged it with some Antique Linen Distress Ink, matted it, and adhered it some matching patterned paper before putting it in the frame. Voila! Christmas art! I can’t wait to display this on a table or shelf this year!

Thanks so much for stopping by! Hope to see you back tomorrow for the third and final day of June sneaks! But in the meantime, be sure to check out what a few other design team members have for this challenge and then join in!

  1. Barb, this is such a beautiful Christmas idea!! Why didn't I think of that? I hope you don't mind if I "borrow" your idea for a Christmas gift this year :) You have so many stylish ideas :)

I love how you matted everything in and sponged it in. It really brings your eyes to those beautifully colored in letters :)
