My DH and I have a houseful of cats and have for many years. I’ve always meant to start a scrapbook for the ones that have passed on to the Rainbow Bridge but never got around to it, so this was just the push I needed to get going on that. Although we love them all, this page is for our heart cat and memories of him definitely warm *our* hearts. This photo shows one of his favorite poses—with his front paws crossed—so I chose it for his page.
I started with a Maya Road chipboard album page, covered it with patterned paper, and went to town. If it looks a little warped, it is. I adhered the patterned paper with Mod Podge and it always warps these chipboard pages, but when I do the other side it will flatten out nicely. Then I swiped the paper with some gesso to lighten the pattern, then applied some molding paste using On the Diagonal stencil. I also stamped some images from MPD Distressed Background Blocks and MPD Collage Backgrounds. I added a Pretty Posies Die-namics flower with Royal Leaves Die-namics.
Next I added a High Tea Party Doily Die-namics cut from Black Licorice card stock, then the photo, matted with Black Licorice card stock and Olive card stock. I added a Layered Heart Border Die-namics cut from Kraft card stock, then some Leaf-Filled Flourish Die-namics cut from Olive card stock. I finished this corner with a Sunflower Die-namics element cut from Primitive White card stock with a Kraft card stock center, and some Pretty Posies Die-namics with Kraft button centers.
In this corner I adhered a Heart STAX Die-namics cut from Kraft card stock and his name, cut from Black Licorice card stock and By the Letters Die-namics. On a strip of Primitive White card stock, I stamped the years, using Black Licorice ink and Typewriter Alphabet.
In this corner, I added a sentiment from Clearly Sentimental About Pets, stamped on Primitive White card stock with Black Licorice ink on a Clearly Sentimental Label Die-namics die cut. To finish it off, I added a little tag from Pet Charms Die-namics, sponged the edges of everything with Distress Ink, and added a few enamel dots.
And that’s it! Consider you heart warmed! Thanks so much for stopping by today!

ReplyDeleteSuch a lovely page. We have 5 cats and one is "near the end", my daughter's cat, and her best friend. It is not easy being away at University when he is so frail now. But I think I will "borrow" your page idea to make a gift to her. Thank you for sharing!
