Happy Birthday, CTD #341

ctd341_2015may6

Hey, there, everyone! Welcome to this week’s Color Throwdown Challenge! Lori is our host this week and she’s got some real summery colors for us to play with.

swatch 341

I started with a Sweet Tooth card stock base, then stamped up a piece of Black Licorice card stock with Versamark and heat embossed it with white detail embossing powder. Next up is a piece of Ranger watercolor paper, stamped with Simply Circles Background and Versamark and heat embossed with white detail embossing powder. Then, using a medium water brush, I water colored inside each circle with Orange Fizz dye ink, Spearmint dye ink, Daffodil dye ink, and Cotton Candy dye ink. I then filled in the black areas with a fine line marker and finished off by splattering it with clean water. The sentiment is from LJD You’re the Sweetest and was also stamped with Versamark and heat embossed with white detail embossing powder. Everything except the flower and leaf flourish was cut with elements from Blueprints 23 Die-namics. The flower was cut from Orange Fizz card stock with Rolled Scalloped Rose Die-namics and the leaf was cut from Spearmint card stock with Simple Leaf Flourishes Die-namics.

A sentiment from LJD Birthday Greetings was stamped on the inside with Black Licorice dye ink.

And that’s it from me! Remember, you do not have to have the exact colors to play the Color Throwdown challenge. If you don't, just use the closest you have. So, c'mon over to the Color Throwdown blog and play along with us this week. Please use the link service to post your card and please link directly to your card so we can find it easily. And please include a link in your post to the Color Throwdown. If you upload your card to a public forum, please use the keyword CTD341 so we can see your beauty all in one place, and use #ctd341 and #colorthrowdown on social media. Hope to see you there! Be sure to check out what the other team members have come up with this week, including our incredibly talented May Guest Designer, Tenia Nelson!
