Hi, everyone and welcome to Day Two of MFT’s August Card Kit Reveal and release of the updated BB Witch Way is the Candy? I loved this set when it was first released and I love it still! So many cute images to play with and some super cute sentiments to go along with them.
I started this card by sponging my background on Smooth White card stock using, bottom to top, Gumdrop Green dye ink, Banana Split dye ink, Blueberry dye ink, and After Midnight dye ink. I splattered some stars using watered down Copic Opaque White and a small paint brush then adhered it to a Sweet Tooth card stock base with foam mounting tape.
Next I stamped my images on No-Line Coloring Card Stock with Black Licorice hybrid ink and colored them with Copic Markers. The frog and pumpkin are two different images that I joined by masking so since I had to fussy cut them out I did the same with the other images. I popped them all up on foam tape, and added some Shining Stars Die-namics cut from Silver Sparkle card stock. The sentiment was stamped with Versamark on Black Licorice card stock, heat embossed with white detail embossing powder, and also popped up on foam. I do love me a good Halloween stamp set :)
Don’t forget the Card Kit for August, X’s and O’s Card Kit will also be available for purchase tonight at 9pm Eastern. Get all the details at the MFT Blog.
That’s it from me for now—thanks so much for stopping by! See you back tonight for the August card kit release!

This is such a sweet card. I love Halloween but it doesn't have to be Frankenstein, vampires and werewolves all the time. I just love this card.

ReplyDeleteYou made an amazing background !
ReplyDeleteAmazing card! I love the background!
ReplyDeleteThis card showed up on my Pinterest account this morning and I just had to come by and see how you made this! I haven't connected with MFT very much this past year. I did not know you guys had "no line paper" - and what a great tip watering down the Copic Opaque White (I only used it once and it did not want to splatter nicely in small dots)! Are all these elements from the same stamp set? I have the one from the original release. I also noticed you changed your packaging for the dye ink pads! (All mine are oval.) I've never seen anyone use them to create a distressed background before, the colors are so perfect and they blended so beautifully (does the "smooth" cardstock help with that?) I just tried using the Clarity brushes with the new Distress Oxide Inks and it was a lot harder than I thought it would be, plus the hairs kept falling out of the brushes). Can I asked what you used to blend the ink with? Thanks so much!
