I Would Cross an Ocean for You - MFT Hits & Highlights

Hi everyone, it’s time for a new MFT Design Team Hits & Highlights feature! This time we’re challenged to use Leaping Slider Channels Die-namics for an interactive card. Be sure to stop by the MFT Blog to see the other team members sharing inspiration today.

To begin, I sponged my background using Blue Breeze dye ink on Strathmore Bristol Smooth card stock—the sun rays were created using Ray of Light Stencil and stamped the sentiment with Extreme Black hybrid ink. Next I cut my waves from Summer Splash card stock with Ocean Waves Die-namics and the ocean floor from Kraft card stock with Snow Drifts Die-namics, Before assembling, I sponged the edges with matching dye ink and stamped some fish with Cement Gray hybrid ink and colored them with Copic markers. The tallest wave element was popped up with one layer of foam tape to the card front, after measuring and cutting my channel with Leaping Channel Slider Die-namics. I adhered two Slider Elements to a scrap of paper that I used as a stop then inserted it through the channel.

The images were stamped on No-Line Coloring card stock with Extreme Black hybrid ink and colored with Copic markers. I adhered the shark to the front of the Slider Elements and made sure he was moving freely before I adhered the second ocean element on TWO layers of foam tape. The third element was adhered with one layer and the ocean floor adhered directly before popping the colored images up on foam.

Here’s a little video showing the movement:

And that’s all I have for your today! Thanks so much for stopping by! See you soon!
