Flourishes June Pre-release Challenge

prereleasechallenge_2012jun8wtmk

Hi all! This time next week, Flourishes will be wrapping up its sneak peek week with three new beautiful sets being unveiled! So, to get ready for the big reveal….the DT is ushering in a fun-filled challenge to give you a chance to win each and every one of them! Mark your calendar — the fun starts NEXT WEDNESDAY!!
All you need is ten minutes and a dash of creativity to play in our latest Release Week Challenge! It's one that gives you a chance to WIN our entire release for June!

HOW TO PLAY:
Let your creativity shine AND don't take a long time to do it! This challenge is all about those 10-minute creations. Clean and simple layouts that can be done in a jiffy is what we are looking for here! Entries must be in by June 15th by 5PM EST in order to be in the running for the entire June Release!

If you upload to Splitcoaststampers, please use the keyword FLLCJUN12! Winners will be chosen at random but one lucky person will be chosen to have their card featured on the Flourishes blog! Remember to link your creation using our Inlinkz widget!
This is a very simple card—a minimum of coloring and a simple “layout” if you want to call it a layout, LOL.

So, here’s what I did: I cut out a Labels Twenty Two Nestabilities die cut with Classic White card stock, stamped the image from From the Desk Of with Memento Tuxedo Black ink, and colored only the ribbon with this Copic Collection:

Poppy Collection:

Then I layered it with a Labels Four Nestabilities die cut and popped it up over a ribbon tied around in a bow. I stamped the sentiment on a Tailor Made Classic Tags Die and attached it with some white twine. My patterned paper is Authentique Delightful.

I couldn’t resist doing the inside, which consists only of another sentiment from the set.

Happy Friday, everyone! Today I have

Please take a picture and show the inspiration piece in your post. Entries must be in by May 11th at 5PM EST in order to be in the running for the entire May Release!

Home Sweet Home Challenge Graphic

Soooo, I used a picture that’s hanging in our home office for my inspiration.

I’m using the lighthouse from
A Guiding Light for my Father’s Day card today. First of all, I decided where I was going to put the sentiment, then I stamped the lighthouse image on Classic Ivory card stock with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink. After I colored it with these Copic collections…

Warm Neutrals Collection:

Poppy Collection:

Copper Collection:

New Fields Collection:

… I trimmed it, did some scoring with my Scor Buddy and adhered it to a red mat. Then I tied on a sailor’s knot (tutorial HERE) and popped the whole thing up on foam.

And that’s it!

Now, be sure to check out what the rest of the design team has for you today...

Flourishes April Pre-Release Challenge–The Motherly Love Challenge

motherslovechallengewtmk_2012_apr6

Welcome to Flourishes April Pre-Release Challenge! This
month’s challenge is to make a Mother’s Day card. Won’t be long before we need them, so no time like the present to get started! You can get all the details about this challenge at the Flourishes Blog!

Motherly Love Graphic

I lost my mother several years ago, but every Mother’s Day I remember that when I was growing up, she always got an orchid corsage to wear to church. So I decided to do this card with the gorgeous

Orchids set. I had never inked up this particular image so it was about time :)

I stamped it on
Classic White card stock with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored it with these Copic collections:

Evergreen Collection:

Robin’s Egg Collection:

Hollyhock Collection:

Tea Rose Collection:

Then I cut it out with a Classic Oval Nestabilities die, matted it with a Labels Eighteen Nestabilities die and popped it up on the embossed and quartered base. The sentiment, from the Siberian Iris set, was stamped on a Standard Circle Nestabilities die cut and popped up on foam as well.

And that’s it! Now, be sure to check out what the rest of the design team has for you today...

Flourishes Pre-Release Challenge–B & W + 1

prereleasechallengewtmk_2012feb3

Welcome to Flourishes’ February Pre-Release Challenge! This month’s challenge is one I love: Black and White and another color. Fun and so much scope for creativity!

The Black and White Plus One Challenge_edited-1

Get all the details at the Flourishes blog.

I usually go with red when I do black and white but I pulled out my Hearts and Flowers set that had never been inked up and decided to use the sweet daisy heart. I stamped it on Classic White card stock with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored it with Copic markers, using these Copic collections:

Warm-Neutrals

Yellows-Gr

Then I cut it out and popped it up on foam dots on top of several designs of patterned paper and a Labels Eighteen Nestabilities die cut. I tied some matching yellow ribbon around in a bow and then added a flag, using a die from the Nested Pennants set.

So, that's it for me. Be sure to take a look at what the rest of the design team has for you.

Make Every Minute Count - Flourishes January Pre-Release Challenge

Ring in the new year with “Father Time” or “Baby New Year” – this challenge is a fight between new and old! To be in the running, simply use a card that showcases an image of time (i.e. one of our calendars, the Moments in Time set) or one that showcases little baby new year i.e. a baby card. Either will get you in the running. Just link your card up on the Flourishes Blog for your chance to win!

It's almost time for the January release, so that means it's time for the Pre-release challenge! For my card, I used the Moments In Time stamp set. I'd not inked up the gorgeous hour glass before so I thought it was time. I stamped it on patterned paper and colored it with Copic markers, using these collections:

Then I cut it out and popped it up on more of the same paper and stamped the sentiment at the bottom of the image panel. Finally, I added some twine, a Prima flower, and some black pearls.

Be sure to check out what the the Flourishes Design Team has for you today:

Hi, all! Welcome to Flourishes December Pre-Release Challenge! This challenge is all about girlie :) Lace, pearls, and flouncy ribbons--I think I have all that covered on my card. I stamped the largest image on colored card stock with white pigment ink and heat embossed with white detail embossing powder. Then I tied a sheer ribbon around and through one of the Spellbinders Grommet Tags die cuts, stamped on Classic Ivory card stock with a matching image from Country Charm Labels. I added some white pearls at the corners and it was done!

Flourishes Snowy Delights Challenge

It sparkles, shines and glistens on the landscape. Let's capture some of that snowy sparkle on our cards and creations. Use glitter, Flower Soft or any kind of bling that offers up a snowy feel. FLLCNOV11. Deadline is November 11th at 5 PM Eastern.

It's that time again! Time for Flourishes per-release challenge! I decided to bring out this sweet snowman from the Warm Winter Wishes set.

I stamped the image on Classic White card stock with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored it with these Copic collections:

My sweet snowflake was first cut out with an older Spellbinders Create a Snowflake die and my Grand Calibur machine, run through my sticker maker, and coated with fine iridescent glitter.

I also added some sparkle to the snowman himself with a Clear Spica Glitter Pen. Then a little stitching, some baker's twine and a button, and it was done!

So, that's it for me. Be sure to take a look at what the rest of the design team has for you.
