à la modes Teaser Day Two - Take Time

Today's MFT à la modes is called Take Time. It has an adorable image plus tons of sentiments that are perfect for lots of occasions. Here's a few things about this line:
  • à la modes will be available only in rubber
  • Each set is produced in the USA using the highest quality rubber, with the deepest etch possible.
  • Each image and sentiment is backed on cling foam and scroll cut, making it ready for stamping right out of the bag!
  • Packaged in a clear hang bag, we've also provided the ideal storage solution by including a thick laminated header card in each set that can be used to store the stamp set, in its entirety, after purchase.
I just got this new Cosmo Cricket Circa 1934 paper and had to use it!

After I colored the image I cut it out and popped it up on a panel of patterned paper matted with Wild Cherry and Black Licorice card stock. I used the Little Open Scallop Strip Die-namics die (OMGosh, but I love this!) on the dotted element and tied a pretty bow around using ribbon from the Birthday Bash collection. The sentiment was punched out and popped up.

Here's the inside with another sweet sentiment.

And here are the Copics I used.

Thanks for stopping by! Remember, both à la modes go on sale tonight at 10pm along with this month's VIP collection!!! WAIT until you see the VIP collection. Just sayin'...

Peace - FTTC #93

It's time for Flourishes Timeless Tuesday Challenge (FTTC93)! This week Dee Jackson is our challenge host! It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas so we really need to get some Christmas cards ready for mailing! Dee is challenging us to "Just Do It!" Get those Christmas cards done! You may need to make several for this challenge! We would love to see what you create!

You don't have to ask me twice to make a Christmas card ;-) I LOVE making them! I also love this Peace stamp set and haven't inked it up this year so I pulled it out and got to work. I'm using paper from the luscious Mistletoe paper by Memory box. I stamped the image on Classic Ivory card stock with Soft Suede ink and sponged the edges of every layer. I distressed the base card layers for a little textural interest, and finished it off with some rich dark red ribbon and some matching flat backed pearls.

There's a smaller image in this set so I decided to use it and the wonderful sentiment on the inside.

Now, be sure to go see what my team mates did with this challenge!
Thanks for stopping by!

~Supplies~
Stamps: Peace (Flourishes)
Paper: Classic Cream (Flourishes); Soft Suede (SU!); Mistletoe 6 x 6 pack (Memory Box)
Ink: Soft Suede (SU!)
Accessories/tools: distressing tool (Tim Holtz); flat back pearls, ribbon, Pop Dots (craft store)

November à la modes Teaser, Day One

It's time to show you those sassy à la modes girls again! Today we have Here's the Story. As always, if you check Kim's blog after 11:00am today she'll have a list of all of the designers that have a sample for you using this adorable set.
  • $10.95 for the 3 x 4" set.

I colored the image with Copic markers, cut it out with a Classic Circle Nestabilities die and matted it with a scalloped layer of Not Quite Navy. I'm using Crate Paper's Restoration collection and used it with the Faux Crochet Die-namics die for the mat on the second element, as well. I wasn't sure where I wanted to put the sentiment so I cut it up and placed the words randomly. Some green twill and some buttons finished it off.

The inside with another sweet sentiment from the set.

I've had requests to show the Copic markers I use. I used to do that and got out of the habit but after several requests, I'll try to do it. As you can see, I use a lot, LOL!

Thanks for stopping by! I'll be back tomorrow with another à la modes preview so I hope to see you back!

Celebrate the Season - C4C # 63

It's Crazy 4 Challenges time! This month Cindy Haffner is our host and for today, she's challenging us to make a Christmas card or project. I dunno about you, but this time of the year, that's not really a challenge--that's all I *want* to make ;)

I'm using this recently released Emma Celebrates the Season from MFT for my card. She was stamped on a Perfect Paper Panel with Memento Rich Cocoa ink and colored with Copic markers, and her scarf was paper pieced. I added some Liquid Applique to her hat, muff (I had one just like this!) and boot tops. I used MFTs Snowflake Trio Die-namics dies for the snowflakes and tied on a little button from the Spring collection for the center. Other MFT products I used are Sweet Tooth and Gumdrop Green card stock.

Here's the inside--I used the fabulous Open Scallop border Die-namics die for this and stamped a sentiment from the set. Sweet!

Sooooo, NOW, be sure to check out the samples by the rest of my crazy girls...er, I mean the Crazy 4 Challenges team ;-)

THEN, you know what to do--we'd love to have you come along and play with us. Just do your thing with the challenge and link it to Mr. Linky on the Crazy 4 Challenges blog. Please link directly to your project. And, if you upload to a public gallery, please use the key word C4C63.

Thanks so much for dropping in today!

Non-traditional Christmas Colors - Stamp Simply #165

I LOVE non-traditional colors for Christmas! Although, we're seeing them so much any more, they may become more traditional soon ;-) I especially love pink and seafoam green for Christmas. M-mmmmm! Here's what Sharon has to say about it:

Nov. 12 - ssnotime165 - Non-traditional Christmas Colors -- I know I do this every year, but it's a personal favorite of mine!  Let's make Christmas cards or projects today in NON-traditional Christmas colors. So that means NO typical red and green. Personal favorites of mine for Christmas are Bashful Blue, Amethyst, Celery, Pink or Rose. Can't WAIT to see YOUR favorites!!!

So. I went with pink and seafoam green ;-) The picture shows the colors darker than they really are--I couldn't get a lighter version without it looking washed out. I've had this Flourishes Poinsettia and Boxwood set since last year and it has never seen ink! Sinful, I tell ya! I stamped the large poinsettia and the two leaves on an MFT Perfect Paper Panel and colored it with Copic markers. Sorry! I meant to take a picture of the Copics I used (I've had some requests for this) but I forgot! I'll try harder ;-) Then I cut them all out and popped the poinsettia up on Pop Dots--the leaves are adhered to the white layer. The base card is MFT's Sweet Tooth card stock and the green layer is PTI Ocean Tides. The sentiment was stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black in and is from Flourishes Holiday Greetings set. Finally, I tied some silver cord around and added some silver flat backed pearls to the flower center.

So, now it's your turn. Come along and play and take us up on the challenge--we'd love to see what you come up with. If you do, be sure to leave the link to your project on Sharon's blog using Mr. Linky. Please use the keyword ssnotime165 if you upload to a public forum. Don't forget to check out Sharon's fabulous sample and those of the design team, including our Guest Designer for November, Claudia Rosa of Pretty Pressings.
