Didja see? No? Well, I've got more exciting news. Yep, I do. The news is that today marks my debut as the newest member of the Friends of Flourishes Blog Team! This has been one awesome couple of weeks, I'm tellin' you! When Julie emailed me and asked if I'd join the team, I had to think about it for, oh, at least half a second, LOL! I'm so looking forward to working with this super-talented team!
So, as today is my first week I'm bringing you this week's Flourishes Timeless Tuesday Challenge and I'm challenging everyone to easel cards. Never tried an easel card before, no problem. Here is an SCS video easel card tutorial which includes ingredients lists, measurements, and individual pictures as well, by Beate Johns. We would love to see what you create! You can get all the Challenge deets over at the Flourishes Blog.
And here's my card. With all the snow and ice we're having in the mid-Atlantic states right now, I suspect lots of folks would like to be on a nice warm beach, lying in a hammock in the sun. So, since we can't all *do* that, I decided I'd bring it to you on a card. Doesn't this look inviting?
I stamped the focal image from the Beach Life set on Flourishes' Classic White card stock with Memento Rich Cocoa ink and colored it with Copic markers, then cut it out with a Deckled Rectangle Nestabilities die. I love the paper in this K & Co. mat stack called Roam. It has a decidedly nautical theme so it works so well with this set. I stitched the card "front", tied a blue ribbon around, and attached a charm made with a Flourishes Finishing Touches Mini Messages in antique copper. For the inside of the Mini Message charm, I cut a piece of DP with the very smallest Classic Oval Nestabilities die and it was just about a perfect fit :) Both sentiment elements were cut out with Classic Oval dies, as well.
Here's the "inside" of the card. I used a a sailor's knot that I made out of cotton yarn as an embellishment and as the stop for the easel. I love it!
Thanks so much for stopping by for my first Flourishes Timeless Tuesday Challenge! I hope you'll play along this week! Be sure to check out all the fabulous cards by the rest of the Friends of Flourishes team:
