Waving Hello–SSSC #253

SSSC253_2015jan25

Hey, there, it’s time for another Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge! Karen has another classic design for us today. We’d love to see your take on it!

SSSC253
I have a little video for you today, showing you how I made the sailor’s knot along with construction of the card. You can view it in HD HERE at my You Tube channel or click on the button below. Note: I forgot to mention in the video that for most applications on an A2 size card, 18” seems to be a good length to which to cut your yarn pieces—so, for this card I cut 4 pieces, each 18” in length. Adjust accordingly if you need longer tails for your project.

Additionally, I’ll give a quick run down of how the card went together. I started with a Kraft card stock base, added a piece of Berrylicious card stock water colored with Waves stencil and Berrylicious ink, then popped up on foam. Next is a panel of Kraft card stock stamped with Star Background and Kraft ink, then a panel of Primitive White card stock with the sentiment, from Go Overboard, stamped with Steel Gray dye ink. Next up is a silver glitter paper strip with the sailor’s knot wrapped ‘round it, followed up with an anchor from Let’s Get Nautical cut from steel Gray card stock. I finished off with some silver glitter stars cut from Sun, Moon, & Stars Die-namics and Scattered Stars Die-namics.

Another sentiment from Go Overboard was stamped on the inside.
