Happiest of Holidays - CTD #422

CTD422_2016dec7

Hi, everyone! It’s time for another Color Throwdown Challenge! This is one of two challenges for December—we’re taking the rest of the month off after next week, so be sure to get your color challenge fix before that. Plus, *I’m* hosting this week and I’d love to see a gallery full on the Color Throwdown blog. Here’s what I used for my inspiration piece—is it not totally festive??

And I went with a one layer card today. I started by drawing my “string” freehand with a Copic black multiliner. After several practices on scrap paper, it was as good as it was going to get so I went with it. Then I stamped the ornament from BB Santa’s Elves with Black Licorice hybrid ink and colored them with Copic markers in the challenge colors. If I’d been thinking ahead, I’d have airbrushed the background before stamping them but since I didn’t, I had to mask off each of the ornaments and THEN airbrush with my Copic airbrush system.

After that it was only a matter of stamping the sentiment, matting it with Black Licorice card stock and popped it up on a Sweet Tooth card stock base with foam mounting tape.

And that’s it from me! Remember, you do not have to have the exact colors to play the
Color Throwdown challenge. If you don't, just use the closest you have. So, c'mon over to the Color Throwdown blog and play along with us this week. Please use the link service to post your card and please link directly to your card so we can find it easily. And please include a link in your post to the Color Throwdown. If you upload your card to a public forum, please use the keyword CTD422 so we can see your beauty all in one place, and use #ctd422 and #colorthrowdown on social media. Hope to see you there! Be sure to check out what the other team members have come up with this week, including our TWO incredibly talented December Guest Designers, Leigh Penner AND Kim Singdahlsen! Yes, you read that right—as our gift to you, we have two amazing guests to share their inspiration with you this month.
