We know it’s the thought that counts but c’mon, can we all agree that a thoughtful gift is really the icing on the birthday cake? With a wide variety of gift stamps and dies, you ought to have no trouble completing this month’s challenge — join our team in crafting a birthday card featuring one or more presents.
When I started looking though my stamps for a suitable image it didn’t take me long to settle on this one. PI Happy Birthday to You with her big gift box was perfect! I started by stamping the image five times—yes five!! 1) The main image, 2) one for her dress, 3) one for just her arm, 4) one for the gift box, and 5) one for the ribbon. I colored the main image and the arm, then shaded the dress, box, and ribbon, all with Copic markers and adhered them together like this: main > dress > arm > box > ribbon.
Once that was done I went to work on the card front. First I adhered a strip of Plaid Patterns Paper Pack to a Sweet Tooth card stock base, then sponged a panel of Strathmore Bristol Smooth card stock, tied around some baker’s twine, and popped it up on foam tape on the card base. Then I popped the paper pieced image up on foam tape and finished off with some enamel dots.
