Birthday Wishes–MFT Wednesday Sketch Challenge #432

Hi, everyone, I’m back with this week’s MFT Wednesday Sketch Challenge! Are you ready? Here’s this week’s sketch. All of the details about the sketch challenge are available on the MFT Blog as well as in the weekly newsletter. The MFT Design Team will be on hand to provide plenty of inspiration to get you started.

Obviously, I flipped this bad boy on it’s side for my card. I kept seeing candles where those three fishtail elements are and I couldn’t figure out any way to add candles on their sides! Thus the flip ;-) So, first of all I stamped a piece of Sweet Tooth card stock with Balloon Strings Background and Cement Gray hybrid ink. Hybrid because sponging a dye ink with a dye ink will almost always result in smudging. Next I stenciled Big Balloons Stencil with, left to right, Grape Jelly, Red Hot, Orange Zest, Lemon Drop, Sour Apple, and Berrylicious dye inks and adhered that panel to a Sweet Tooth card stock base.

The horizontal element and the candles were cut from Black & White Basics Paper Pack and the flame from Lemon Chiffon card stock with a flick of Copic marker. I finished off with Birthday Wishes Die-namics cut from Black Licorice card stock three times, stacked, and adhered.

And there you have it! Remember, you can get all the details by visiting the
MFT Challenge Blog. You have the chance to win a $50 in MFT voucher. One winner is chosen at random each week!

Thanks for stopping by! See you soon!
