Hello! Welcome to this week’s Color Throwdown Challenge! This week Broni has chosen this rich, earthy color palette for us to work with.
I’ve been having fun doing the emboss resist backgrounds so I thought I’d try it again. I started with a Kraft card stock base, then stamped Garden Flourish Background on Ranger watercolor paper with Versamark and heat embossed with white detail embossing powder. Then I did the smooshing thing with Jellybean Green dye ink and Tropical Teal dye ink on my craft sheet, sprayed a little water, and dragged the watercolor paper through it. I reapplied a couple more times to get full coverage and a look I liked. I added some Black Licorice grosgrain ribbon and popped it up on the base with foam mounting tape. Next I cut four copies of Sentimental Flourish Frame Die-namics from Kraft card stock and Black Licorice card stock, adhered them together for strength, and popped them up on foam over the ribbon. A few enamel dots finished it off :)
A sentiment from lJD Birthday Greetings was stamped on the inside with Black Licorice dye ink.
And that’s it from me! Remember, you do not have to have the exact colors to play the Color Throwdown challenge. If you don't, just use the closest you have. So, c'mon over to the Color Throwdown blog and play along with us this week. Please use the link service to post your card and please link directly to your card so we can find it easily. And please include a link in your post to the Color Throwdown. If you upload your card to a public forum, please use the keyword CTD338 so we can see your beauty all in one place, and use #ctd338 and #colorthrowdown on social media. Hope to see you there! Be sure to check out what the other team members have come up with this week, including our incredibly talented April Guest Designer, Karen Giron!
