Hi, everyone, and welcome back to Day Six of MFT’s August Teasers! Tomorrow night, August 6th at 10pm, the release will go live for purchase. Until then, be sure to check out what the Design Team has for you today, over at the MFT Blog.

I’m using the AWESOME new set being released this month called Plaid Builder Background and I am SMITTEN with it! You WILL be seeing this from me often in the future—the possibilities are only limited by your colors of ink and your imagination. Can you tell I love this set? I’m also using this month’s Free With $60 set, Sending Thanks. Additionally, I’m using another new Die-namics die for August: Die-namics Peek-a-Boo Chevrons. You’re liable to be seeing this a lot from me, too :)

How’d I do It? I started with a Sweet Tooth card stock base, then stamped my plaid background on more Sweet Tooth card stock with Black Licorice ink, Sour Apple ink, and Grapesicle ink. I did some measuring and cut and adhered my plaid paper to another piece of trimmed-down Sweet Tooth card stock. Then I laid out my Die-namics Peek-a-Boo Chevrons dies, taped them down with removable tape, and ran it through my die cutting machine. Then I popped it up on foam and that part was done. I cut a Die-namics Layered Label element from Sweet Tooth card stock and stamped the THANKS from Sending Thanks in Black Licorice ink. For the first time EVER, I cut a stamp up (OUCH!). I used the dotted lines from DC Tag, You’re It for the dotted lines on the sentiment panel. There are three lines and it was hard to ink up and stamp just one so I did the deed and cut one off. It worked :) After I popped that up on foam, I added some enamel dots and it was done!

Here’s the inside with another sentiment from the set:

  13. Love this little chevron die on an angle with the plaid underneath. What a fun and unexpected surprise. Here's where I am odd, when I create, it tends to be level or whole/full. I don't know why. LOL Same thing with coloring, I feel I need to fill the whole space/image. So, I love your unexpected inspiration!
