Always Believe in Yourself–CTD #339

CTD339_2015apr22

Hey there, Color Throwdown fans! It’s that time of the week when we throw down a color combo for you to play with. This week Joan has a classic combo for us: black, white, and yellow.

I was DETERMINED not to use flowers on this card, LOL! It would have been SOOOOOOOOOO easy. But I resisted. Instead, I started with a Sweet Tooth card stock base, added a piece of Sweet Tooth card stock stamped with Daffodil dye ink and Fine Check Background, matted with black Licorice card stock and popped up on foam mounting tape. Then I stamped one of my fave sentiments from Chalkboard Greetings Too on a piece of Black Licorice card stock with Versamark and did the chalkboard technique, heat embossing with white detail embossing powder. I popped that up on foam, too, after tying around some bakers twine and adding a “branch” cut from Kraft card stock using the tree in Spooky Scene Die-namics and adhered it to the chalkboard. Next I cut a couple of birds from MSTN Tweet On You from Neenah Classic Crest Cover, Solar White Smooth, 110lb paper, stamped the images from MSTN Tweet On You with Black Licorice hybrid ink and colored with Copic markers then popped up on foam.

Another sentiment from Chalkboard Greetings Too was stamped on the inside with Black Licorice hybrid ink.

And that’s it from me! Remember, you do not have to have the exact colors to play the Color Throwdown challenge. If you don't, just use the closest you have. So, c'mon over to the Color Throwdown blog and play along with us this week. Please use the link service to post your card and please link directly to your card so we can find it easily. And please include a link in your post to the Color Throwdown. If you upload your card to a public forum, please use the keyword CTD339 so we can see your beauty all in one place, and use #ctd339 and #colorthrowdown on social media. Hope to see you there! Be sure to check out what the other team members have come up with this week, including our incredibly talented April Guest Designer, Karen Giron!
