Home Is Where the Heart Is

I have another card from my Splitcoast Stampers Dirty Dozen stint. The theme for this card was things we love. This Taylored Expressions sentiment says it for me--I love to be home. Home is where my sweetie and my cats and my garden and my *stuff* is, KWIM? I like to go places but I'm always ready to get back home.

The sweet little house, the heart smoke, and the sentiment are all from Love Everywhere by Taylored Expressions. Paper is Webster's Pages and the cream sentiment panel was also stamped with more hearts. Some bling, some seam binding, a sweet rose, a doily, and some distressing finish it off.

Thanks for stopping by today! I'll be back tomorrow with another Dirty Dozen project. Hope to see you back then.

~Supplies~
Stamps: Love Everywhere (Taylored Expressions)
Paper: Very Vanilla (SU!); Webster's Pages 6 x 6
Ink: Memento Rich Cocoa; Antique Linen Distress Ink (Ranger)
Accesories/tools: distressing tool (Tim Holtz); flower, seam binding, doily

Be like a flower... Taylored Expressions June Key Ingredients Kit

Happy Sunday, everyone! I have another card for you today using Taylored Expressions June Key Ingredients Kit. Everything I used on this card except the stamp set, ink, and Nestabilities dies come in the kit.

I stamped this beautiful silhouetted image from Summer Afternoon using Memento Tuxedo Black ink on card stock from the kit and cut it out with a Classic Circle Nestabilities die. Then I added the sentiment in the center and popped it up on a Scalloped Circle mat.

I added ribbon and a bow, a paper flower and a brad, all from the kit, to finish it off. I really love that large circle image and sentiment--I think they play off the gorgeous paper in the kit perfectly!

If you're not familiar with Taylored Expressions' Key Ingredients Kits, you can get all the details at the Key Ingredients Blog.

Thanks so much for stopping by today!

Taylored Expressions Blast From the Past Blog Hop

You've either happened upon Taylored Expressions' Blast From the Past Blog Hop or you're here from another site on the hop. Whichever, WELCOME, I'm so glad you stopped by!

This month's challenge is to make a CAS card. I love to make CAS cards, but I'm not so sure this one qualifies. I'm using Taylored Expressions' April Key Ingredients Kit and I can't stop using these sweet roses! So, more embellishments than a "true" CAS card, but I tried to hold back, really I did! ;-)

I'm using an image from Taylored Expressions' Summer Afternoon stamp set, inked up with Memento Dandelion ink, then I inked up the stems with a SU! Old Olive marker, huffed, and stamped. Then I cut it out with a Classic Oval Nestabilities die and matted it with a scalloped layer. I tied on that sweet yellow gingham ribbon and added some flat backed pearls from the kit, stitched around the edge, and stamped the sentiment from A Year Of Sweet Sentiments.

Thanks so much for stopping by! Be sure to check out all the other stampers on the hop!

Taylored Expressions February Blast From the Past Blog Hop

Are you ready to hop with Taylored Expressions' February Blast From the Past Blog Hop? This one sounded like so much fun I couldn't resist! The challenge is to "create a card featuring any Taylored Expressions Stamps released prior to December 2010! The theme for our February hop is "Going Green". You may choose to use the color green in your project or "Go Green" and incorporate a recycled element into your creation."

Soooooooooooo, I decided to use green on my card. And my green is from the February Taylored Expressions Key Ingredients Kit.

A simple layout but I love how it turned out. The only things I used that are not in the kit are the pearl flourish and the stamped sentiment, which is from the Taylored Expressions set Faith and Hope. Thanks SO much for stopping by today!

Stamps: Faith and Hope (Taylored Expressions)
Paper: February Taylored Expressions Key Ingredients Kit

Discover Your Wings - Taylored Expressions Key Ingredients

Hi, everyone! I have a Taylored Expressions Key Ingredients project for you today! This month's kit is gorgeous! Every paper from My Mind's Eye is so elegant and there are flowers and ribbons so you know I'm happy :)

For the card above, I started with a vanilla base and added a layer of the aqua card stock included in the kit. Then I stamped one of my favorite images from Discover Your Wings with Memento Rich Cocoa ink. Next I added a strip using the aqua patterned paper and the chocolate brown card stock in the kit and stamped the sentiment at the bottom. Then I added a piece of ribbon and a two-layer flower with a fancy brad - all from the kit. I added some punched out aqua leaves ('cause flowers gotta have leaves), and finally, I stamped a butterfly from the stamp set, cut it out, and popped it up on a little strip of foam.

If you haven't seen the projects that the Key Ingredients Team has posted at the Key Ingredients blog, you need to. Just sayin' ;-) You can find the Key Ingredients Blog HERE, and if you want to see the Key Ingredients Gallery, click HERE.

Happy Heart Day- C4C #71

Happy Saturday, everyone! Are you ready for another Crazy 4 Challenges challenge? Maria continues as our host for the month and she's challenging us with a sketch this week.

You knew I wasn't going to do a square card, didn't you? ;-) I decided to put some more of my Taylored Expressions January Key Ingredients kit to work for another Valentine's Day card. I used the Taylored Expressions stamp set Love Everywhere for the sentiment and the pink hearts behind the popped up hearts on the focal image. I thought they'd make a cute background. All card stock and patterned paper are from the kit.

Then I added the lattice hearts (I backed them with some solid hearts from the kit), some ribbon, and some buttons, all from the kit.

Sending You Love - Taylored Expressions Key Ingredients

Um, I have a little announcement to make today. I'm the newest member of the Taylored Expressions Key Ingredients team. YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Too stinkin' COOL, right??

You can get all the details about that and this month's kit on the Key Ingredients Blog, so dash on over there to see all the yumminess Taylor has in store for you this month.

Here's a card I made with the kit. I'm using Taylored Expressions' Love Everywhere set for this card, and other than the stamps, the ink, baker's twine, and foam, everything else is included in the kit. I stamped the tree and mailbox with Memento Rich Cocoa ink and the hearts with Memento Lady Bug. The hearts and the mailbox were "fussy cut" and popped up for dimension. Isn't this paper just the sweetest?! Lots of shimmery goodness, I tell ya!

Sparkling Holidays - Stamp Simply #161

What a fun challenge Sharon has for us this week! Here it is in her own words:

Oct. 15 – ssnotime161 – Hard Rock Café – Today we are thinking *hard rocks* -- NOT music – OR eating!!!  LOL!!!  Think metals and stones as added elements for your project.  Metallic pens, metallic papers, and rhinestones -- gold, silver and diamonds – right?  Feel free to use copper, rubies, emeralds, pearls, etc.   Use these types of beauties to embellish and enhance your work today – can’t WAIT to see!

I couldn't resist getting the new Taylored Expressions Winter Wonderland set and die. LOVE that there's 2 or 3 stamps for each die size and I couldn't wait to try them out. I wanted to highlight the snowflakes and the bling so I kept everything else pretty simple. White card base with a layer of Kraft is it. I stamped the sentiment with Memento Tuxedo Black and the snowflakes with Memento Summer Sky and added the bling. I thought that rhinestone flourish sorta gives the impression of swirling snow. I'm lovin' it!

So, now it's your turn. Come along and play and take us up on the challenge--we'd love to see what you come up with. If you do, be sure to leave the link to your project on Sharon's blog using Mr. Linky. Please use the keyword ssnotime161 if you upload to a public forum. Don't forget to check out Sharon's fabulous sample and also I'm sure you'll be seeing some fabulous examples of how this technique *should* look from the design team, including our Guest Designer for October, Jerri Kay of A Touch Of Grace.

Merry Christmas - Taylored Expressions October Release

It's release day for Taylored Expressions, and as the October Guest Designer I get to participate! I'm LOVING this new set, Sparkle & Cheer and couldn't wait to stamp up this Christmas tree image. I just love the style of this set--vintage and elegant--it doesn't get any better in my book.

I'm using Taylor's Sketch #130 again--I really love that sketch and I see me using it again and again. The patterned paper I'm using is from the Tinsel and Twig collection by The Girl's Paperie and I love it, too! So, I stamped the image using SU! Old Olive ink and the trunk with Memento Rhubarb Stalk. then I cut it out and ink distressed the edges of it, the sentiment circle, and all of the other layers, as well, and popped the tree up on Pop Dots. Did some machine stitching and added some red jewels to the tree. I happened to have some star-shaped rhinestones in my stash so I colored one with a Copic marker and put it on top. The sentiment was stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black, accented with more jewels, and popped up. Last, I tied a luscious green silk ribbon around in a bow.

Thanks so much for stopping by today! Now, be sure to check out the Baker's Dozen to see what they've got for you:

What's Brewing?

I've got another Taylored Expressions card for you today, using the super cute Spooky Expressions set. I'm also using Taylor's Sketch #130 for my layout.

The image was stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored with Copic markers with some Prismacolor pencil shading. I also added some Sakura glitter pen to the potion in the pot and to the spider web. I stamped sentiment, punched it out with a 1 3/4" round punch and then added a Always Artichoke mat and some green jewels. Patterned paper is from the Eerie 6 x 6 pad by Basic Grey and card stock, in addition to Always Artichoke, is Basic Black, I finished it off with a poison green ribbon, some buttons, and white and orange baker's twine. I just love how this turned out!

Thanks for stopping by!

Make a Wish

How about another Taylored Expressions card today? This is another image from the Make a Wish set. Make a Wish is the latest addition to Taylored Expressions' Giving Tree series! If you're not familiar with the Giving Tree, each quarter TE introduces a new stamp set to support a different charity. When you purchase the Make a Wish stamp set during the months of September, October, and November, TE will donate $7.00 to a national children's charity. You can get all the details here at Taylor's blog.

I'm using Taylor's Sketch #129 but I flipped it. Patterned paper is from Cosmo Cricket's Togetherness 6 x 6 pad and I'm using Riding Hood Red card stock. I stamped the image on Very Vanilla card stock with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored it with Copic markers and added some Sakura glitter pen to the star. I cut the felt balloons using Taylor's balloon dies--so cute!! Then I added some twine strings tied together with a red Pearl cotton bow. Finally, I added a twill bow and some flat backed pearls.

Ok, that's it for today. Thanks so much for stopping by!

Batty Bites

I've got another Taylored Expressions project for you today.

I decided to make a Halloween treat with these gummy eyeballs I found. Aren't they GROSS? But kids will love 'em, you know they will! I'll keep this for the little boy next door--he'll freak out. Heh.

I used some of my Basic Grey Eerie paper to make this band around the adorable paint can I got from Taylored Expressions. It's a Short Pail and I love the size! And doncha just love that bat trim? I got that at JoAnn's last year and never found a use for it--this is perfect!. I stamped the images from Fright Night Favors and then die cut the label with the Favor Frame Die. The bats on the frame and the piece of candy are also from the set, stamped, cut out, and adhered. And that's it! Easy peasy and he's gonna love it! Heh.

Thanks so much for stopping by today!

Stamps: Fright Night Favors (Taylored Expressions)
Paper: Basic Black (SU!); Eerie 6 x 6 pad (Basic Grey)
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, Sweet Plum

Autumn Blessings

I think the hot summer is over--temps are moderating and there's definitely a change in the air. Fall is on the way!! So I thought I'd make a Fall card with my new-to-me Celebrate Life set from Taylored Expressions. It's full of gorgeous Fall and Thanksgiving images and sentiments--just what I needed to welcome the seasonal change :)

I'm using TESC #127 for my layout and Basic Grey's new Pyrus paper. I stamped some of the foliage images on patterned paper first of all. I colored the leaf on the left with Copic markers and the one on the right with SU! markers. Then I matted them on Chocolate Chip card stock and stitched around them and the base card. I stamped the pumpkin with Memento Rich Cocoa ink and colored it with Copic markers before cutting it out and popping it up on Pop Dots. The sentiment was stamped on more patterned paper and cut/embossed with a Spellbinders Tag Trio die, then tied on with some twine and a button. Before I put the card together, I sponged all edges with Antique Linen Distress ink to age it a little.

This card gives me a warm and cozy feeling. Yep, Fall is on the way :)

Thanks for stopping by today!

~Supplies~
Stamps: Celebrate Life (Taylored Expressions)
Paper: Kraft, Chocolate Chip (SU!); Pyrus 6 x 6 pad (Basic Grey); Cream Perfect Paper Panel (MFT)
Ink: Memento Rich Cocoa; Antique Linen Distress Ink (Ranger); Chocolate Chip, Cajun Craze (SU!)
Accessories: Cuttlebug (Provocraft); Tag Trio die (Spellbinders); Copic markers; sewing machine; Pop Dots (craft store); button/twine (PTI)

Happy Birthday To You!

I'm so excited to tell you that I'm going to be Guest Designing for Taylored Expressions for the next two months! If I'm dreaming, please don't wake me up, LOL, 'cause today is release day and my debut! The Baker's Dozen designers have been showing you some AWESOME samples over the last few days and it's all available in the store right now!

For my project today I'm using Make a Wish. Make a Wish is the latest addition to Taylored Expressions' Giving Tree series! If you're not familiar with the Giving Tree, each quarter TE introduces a new stamp set to support a different charity. When you purchase the Make a Wish stamp set during the months of September, October, and November, TE will donate $7.00 to the Make a Wish Foundation. The mission of the Make a Wish Foundation is to grant the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions to enrich families with hope, strength and joy. I am humbled to be able to participate in this wonderful cause. You can get all the details here at Taylor's blog.

I'm using the three balloon images from this set for my focal image. The balloons are stamped separately and guess what? There are dies to go with the balloons! I don't have them--yet ;-) So I cut my balloons by hand and glued them down. There are several sentiments included and I chose this simple one and cut it apart to fit my layout. Guess what else? That banner is a stamp!! Yes!! It's actually longer than what I have on my card, but the beauty is that you can add or subtract and make it as long as you want! Awe-some! I'm only using a small portion of the fabulous images and sentiments included in this set--you'll have to see it to believe it!

So, now, you'll want to check out what the Baker's Dozen has in store for you today. I'm thinkin' you're gonna be WOW'd!

Thanks so much for stopping by today, and thanks to Taylor for giving me this awesome opportunity to guest design for Taylored Expressions stamps!

~Supplies~
Stamps: Make a Wish (Taylored Expressions)
Paper: Whisper White, Marina Mist (SU!); Cupcake 6 x 6 pad (Basic Grey)
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, Lady Bug; Antique Linen Distress Ink (Ranger)
Accessories/tools: buttons, linen thread, ribbon, Corner Chomper (We R Memory Keepers); sewing machine

Taylored Expressions Blast From the Past Blog Hop

[If you're looking for my FTTC card, please scroll down to the next post. Thanks!]

You've either happened upon Taylored Expressions' Blast From the Past Blog Hop or you're here from another site on the hop. Whichever, WELCOME, I'm so glad you stopped by!

I'm using the sketch that was provided to us for my layout, and I've used one of my very favorite Taylored Expressions sets for my card - Discover Your Wings. The sentiments are just so inspiring. I stamped the image on a piece of patterned paper, and although you can't really tell it from the picture, I stamped the large flower image from the set in light brown before I stamped the sentiment. IRL, it really adds a nice touch. All patterned paper is from So Sophie by My Mind's Eye. I tried to keep the design fairly simple to highlight the sentiment, adding some vintage seam binding, some Prima flowers, and a little subtle bling :)

Thanks so much for stopping by! And many thanks to Taylor for having me along! Here are the rest of the entries for the hop so go look and leave some love--I'm sure there will be lots of fabulousness and inspiration to see!
