Happy April Birthday–CTD #187

CTD187_2012apr11

It’s almost Wednesday so it’s almost time for this week’s Color Throwdown Challenge! I’m posting a little early so you get a sneak at this week’s challenge :)

Joan is this week’s host and she has some gorgeous colors picked out for us to play with—she used this lovely scene for her color inspiration:

Mmmmm, that looks GOOD, doesn’t it?!

Alrighty, then, let’s get to my card! I’m using
MFT’s Inspired by Flowers, Set 2 for the focal image for my card.

First, I put my card base together and stitched around, adding a Die-namics High Tea Party Doily die cut for some texture and interest and layered on a Die-namics Fishtail Flag STAX die cut. Then I tied some Lilac Baker’s Twine around and added a button, tied with a bow and the sentiment, from Inspired by Months Of the Year, also cut with a Die-namics Fishtail Flag STAX die. I stamped the daisy image on some of my fave Neenah Classic Crest Cover, Solar White Smooth, 130lb paper and colored it with Copic markers. Then I cut it out with my Die-namics Circle STAX, sponged the edges, and matted it with a Die-namics Open Scallop Doily Duo die cut. I adhered the flower element on foam dots and few Dew Drops for balance finished it off!

Here’s the inside, with another flag and another sentiment, this one from Finishing Flourishes.

Remember, you do not have to have the exact colors to play the Color Throwdown challenge. If you don't, just use the closest you have. So, c'mon over to the Color Throwdown blog and play along with us this week. Please use the link service to post your card and please link directly to your card so we can find it easily. And please include a link in your post to the
Color Throwdown. If you upload your card to a public forum, please use the keyword CTD187 so we can see your beauty all in one place. Hope to see you there! Be sure to check out what the other team members have come up with this week!!
