Birthday Wishes - CTD #111
Time for another Color Throwdown! Today Broni chose these colors to challenge us:

And these colors definitely were a challenge for me! Hmmm, I'm saying that a lot lately, LOL!
Luckily I found some Webster's Pages patterned paper in my stash that would work, and I'm loosely using Mojo Monday #157 for my layout. I did some stitching and distressing on the patterned paper layer, stamped a sentiment from Verve's Wishful Elegance set, cut/embossed it with a Labels Four Nestabilities die, and added some flat backed pearls. I wound some twine around on top of the lace and lastly added a Prima flower that I sponged with River Rock and Melon Mambo ink.Remember, you do not have to have the exact colors to play. If you don't, just use the closest you have. So, c'mon over to the Color Throwdown blog and play along with us this week. Please use the link service to post your card and please link directly to your card so we can find it easily. And please include a link in your post to the Color Throwdown. If you upload your card to a public forum, please use the keyword CTD111 so we can see your beauty all in one place. Hope to see you there! Chocolate Love - CTD #106
It's time to throw down some color at the Color Throwdown! Are you ready? Danielle chose this week's colors and I love 'em!

And here's my card.

I pulled out some of October Afternoon's Farm Fresh paper 'cause it has three of the four colors in it. PERFECT!! Throw a little Kraft into the mix and it's good to go! My layout if Mojo Monday 152, flipped on it's side. The sentiment is from Verve's Love's Flowers set and you *know* I had to use MFT's Open Scallop Border and Rolled Flower Die-namics dies :) The rest is pretty easy.
Remember, you do not have to have the exact colors to play. If you don't, just use the closest you have. So, c'mon over to the Color Throwdown blog and play along with us this week. Please use the link service to post your card and please link directly to your card so we can find it easily. And please include a link in your post to the Color Throwdown. Dancing in the rain - Stamp Simply #150
July 30 - ssnotime150 - A Color Challenge - As I say time and time again, color is my personal favorite for a challenge! This week's colors are Green and Yellow, with either White OR Ivory as your neutral, and adding a little Black to make it POP is always a favorite of mine! I think we'll see some striking creations with this color combo.

So, I immediately thought of Basic Grey's Origins paper--perfect!! I was lucky enough to win a free Verve set for the Mojo Monday contest for July so I chose Blue Skies. I'd had my eye on that set but hadn't ordered it--lucky me--I was so excited to get this set so I put it right to work on this card.
Don't you just love that little notebook paper image? Too cute!! It, the sentiment and the flourish were all stamped on patterned paper, as was the little butterfly, which was then cut out. Black twill and black buttons finish it off.
So, now it's your turn. Come along and play and take us up on the challenge--we'd love to see what you come up with. If you do, be sure to leave the link to your project on Sharon's blog using Mr. Linky. Please use the keyword ssnotime150 if you upload to a public forum. And don't forget to check out Sharon's fabulous sample and also the great designs from the Stamp Simply team and leave 'em some love!

Button, button, who's got the button? C4C46

This card sorta started out with a tongue-in-cheek take on the challenge. You know, you want buttons? I'll give you buttons, LOL! But the more I worked on it the more I really LOVE how it turned out! I got this strip of crocheted cotton lace--with all those buttons attached--at Hobby Lobby several months back, just knowing one day I'd find a use for it. It was super expensive by the yard, so I only got 1 foot of it--enough for two cards...or one if I messed the first one up, LOL. Anyway, the card is really simple--this paper from Basic Grey's Kioshi 6 x 6 pad matched the buttons perfectly so I went with it. With all those buttons, nothing much else was needed, so I tied a length of vintage seam binding around and stamped this Verve sentiment at the top with Versafine Vintage Sepia ink. I knew I'd need a good impression since it was going to be stamped on patterned paper and Versafine leaves a very sharp impression.
Sooooo, NOW, be sure to check out the samples by the rest of my crazy girls...er, I mean the Crazy 4 Challenges team ;-)

Exactly the way you are - Crazy 4 Challenges #45

For my card, I'm using some Memory Box paper called Black Tie--appropriate, don't you think? I'm using Mojo Monday Sketch #146 for my layout. I used two patterns of paper for the base, on top of a Basic Black layer, then added some black lace. For the three horizontal elements I did that scrunchy ribbon thing--LOL, I don't know what you call it, so "scrunchy ribbon thing" works for me! I stamped the image, from Verve's One Person set, on a Perfect Paper Panel with Memento Tuxedo Black ink three times. I colored with Copic markers, cut out, and layered the images with Pop Dots, then popped the whole thing up on the large oval element. I stamped the sentiment, from the same set, and punched it out, then attached it a bit lower than the sketch shows to work around my image. Finally, I added some silver flat-backed pearls to the center and as corner accents. I like it--lots of dimension on this card.

All you need is love - Stamp Simply #145

Sharon's got a fabulous Stamp Simply challenge for us this week and here's the inspiration piece:

June 25 - ssnotime145 - A Color Challenge - Color challenges have always been my very favorite. Choosing colors and patterns is my favorite part of the card-making process. Our challenge colors today are YELLOW and GRAY with EITHER White or Ivory as your neutral and adding Black for a little POP is totally OK, too! I'm sure we'll see some stunning creations with this striking color combo!
Well, I of course thought of Cosmo Cricket's Everafter collection when I read yellow and gray! Perfect! Mercy's sketch for this week was sitting on my stamping table just waiting to be used, and I hadn't used my new Verve stamps enough, so a plan was born :)
I used two patterns from the paper collection and So Saffron card stock for the main elements. Next I stamped the flower from Love's Flowers three times on a Perfect Paper Panel with Memento London Fog ink and colored the whole flower with leaves, the center petals, and then the very center with Copic markers and cut each element out. Then I stamped the sentiment on some Very Vanilla card stock with PTI Smokey Shadow ink and matted it with So Saffron. All that was left was to do a little sponging, put everything in place, and add a topaz-y rhinestone for the flower center and three pearls, following the sketch. I love this set and I'm really pleased with this card.
So, now it's your turn. Come along and play and take us up on the challenge--we'd love to see what you come up with. If you do, be sure to leave the link to your project on Sharon's blog using Mr. Linky. Please use the keyword ssnotime145 if you upload to a public forum. Love's Flowers - Color Throwdown #98

I love 'em!! And I love that paper! Here's my card:
My card base is Blush Blossom, then I added a couple of patterned paper elements. Then I added a strip of lace and more vintage seam binding--can you tell I'm loving this stuff, LOL? I just got some new Verve stamps so I thought I'd ink one of them up today. I stamped the sentiment, from Love's Flower, on a piece of patterned paper and cut/embossed it with a Labels Ten Nestabilities die. I popped it up on Pop Dots and added some brown flat backed pearls and a new Prima flower to the ribbon. Everything was sponged with Antique Linen Distress ink and I added some Tattered Roses Distress Ink to the rose, as well. I'm using CPS sketch #172, only flipped.Remember, you do not have to have the exact colors to play. If you don't, just use the closest you have. So, c'mon over to the Color Throwdown blog and play along with us this week. Please use the link service to post your card and please link directly to your card so we can find it easily. One person

I'm using another new Verve set called One Person. My patterned paper is from Chloe's Closet by Making Memories. I stamped the sentiment on patterned paper and following the sketch, added a scalloped border and some ribbon, then some Prima flowers and a button. I'm not a fan of leafless flowers, LOL, so I added some punched out leaves, even though they're green ;-) I also added some distressing, both with a tool and with ink.
I hope you'll play along with the CAS-tastic Challenge this week, and don't forget to check out my team mates' creations :)

Dance, Sing, Live - Viva la Verve!
If I do say so myself, I love how it turned out--pretty much like I'd planned it in my head and I love how girly it looks! I flipped the base card and I used an oval instead of a circle, because I wanted to use this sentiment, from Verve's Beautiful You set.I'm using patterned paper from Black Market Paper Society's Ebony and Alabaster 6 x 6 pad. The small white panel is actually embossed with my Cuttlebug Textile folder but you can't really see it. Then, instead of ribbon, I added some black lace with clear jewels attached. Prima flowers and leaves add some interest and more of the green. The centers of the Primas are more designer thumb tacks--this time from Wal*Mart! You never know when and where you'll find something to use on a card, LOL! Huh, would ya look at that; nary a button in sight ;-)
Thanks for dropping in today! And, as always, thanks so much for the sweet comments--they always make my day!

Thanks - Color Throwdown #75
OK, I'll admit when I saw them I was at a loss. Two greens? So, I started looking through all my patterned paper and found nothing that would work. Then I started looking through my Crafty Secrets Journal Notes. I've got several of these and
forget to use them! I thumbed through the Birds and Botanical Journal Notes and came upon this tulip image. Bingo! One of the tulips is a dead-ringer for Rich Razzleberry and there are several greens in the image. OK, I was on my way! I decided to use Mojo Monday sketch #121 for my layout and got to work. I got my layers goin' on but when I got to the top layer, plain ole vanilla was not doing anything for me. I considered embossing--nah, that didn't do anything for me, either. Tried River Rock paper--too many greens, LOL. The I started looking through paper again for a script-type design and found this weathered wood paper in my Crafty Secrets Eathy paper pad. Perfect!!! Just enough pattern for interest but not enough to be overpowering. I love it! I distressed the edges with PTI's Vintage Touch ink pad, added buttons, a bow, some Dew Drops and a sentiment from Verve's Circular Sayings set. Done!Remember, you do not have to have the exact colors to play. If you don't, just use the closest you have. So, c'mon over to the Color Throwdown blog and play along with us this week. [More] Birthday Wishes - Crazy 4 Challenges #18
I started by stamping all four flowers from Verve's Wishful Elegance set on patterned paper from the new Farm Fresh 8 x 8 pad from October Afternoon
with Rich Cocoa ink. Then I cut them all out, layered them, and topped them off with a Vintage button in Dark Chocolate from PTI. For the horizontal element, I ran some More Mustard card stock through my Cuttlebug with the Victorian embossing folder, then swiped my Soft Suede ink pad across the raised areas. LOVE how that turned out! Then I matted it with a layer of Soft Suede with a punched border. I tied the sentiment, from Verve's Wonderful Wishes set, and another Vintage button onto the looped ribbon with Rustic Twine. All paper edges were distressed with Vintage Touch ink. I'm liking the home-y feel this card has.NOW, be sure to check out the samples by the rest of the crazies...er, I mean the Crazy 4 Challenges team ;-)

and then with Riding Hood Red ink, stamped it, applied clear detail embossing powder and heat set it. It worked beautifully!!!I'm using Mojo Monday #117 sketch--on the day after it was posted!!! I also embossed the ornament cap and hook with Ranger Gold Fine Detail powder, added a ribbon and button and used a snowflake border punch.

Snowflake Splendor - Crazy 4 Challenges #15
But TODAY I have to get busy with last minute things for the party. I also have a new Crazy 4 Challenges card for you. Joanne is challenging us to use snowmen or snow on a project. Check out the details on the C4C blog.
I'm using a Twilight Tuesday sketch (no, I'm not one of them but I'll go anywhere for a good sketch, LOL!) and I did very little stamping. My Verve stamps were feeling especially unloved, so I used another sentiment from Snowflake Splendor. I think everything should be pretty easy to figure out, but if not, just let me know if you have any questions.NOW, be sure to check out the samples by the rest of the Crazy 4 Challenges team!

Holiday Cheer--Crazy 4 Challenges #8
Happy Saturday! It's Crazy 4 Challenges time again and Vicki has a fun challenge for us today--go geometric! We're to use at least three geometric shapes on our projects today.I'm using square, rectangle, and circle shapes on my card. The Mojo Monday sketch for this week was perfect for it so that's where my layout comes from. And these Verve stamps--Ornamental Christmas and Snowflake Splendor--worked perfectly, too. My patterned paper is from the Frost 6 x 6 pack from Memory Box and my card stock is Whisper White, Soft Suede, and Soft Sky. I embossed the lower part of the Soft Sky panel with snowflakes, and added some clear rhinestones to the snowflakes on the ornament and the corners for a little bling.

Give Thanks--Mojo Monday #108
I also pulled out some paper I'd been wanting to use from the Autumn mat stack by Recollections.
I love that bit of turquoise in this paper. I stamped the pumpkins on Gina K. Pure Luxury 80 lb paper with Memento Rich Cocoa ink and colored them with Copic markers. Then I stitched around all the elements and sponged the edges with Antique Linen Distress Ink, and the sentiment was done the same way, then cut/embossed with a Spellbinders tag die. Some turquoise twill, some buttons tied on with twine, and a few punched leaves finished it off. I'm lovin' it!Thanks for stopping by today!

Color Throwdown #46

Good morning, folks! Today is Color Throwdown day--and I get to pick the colors! I decided to go with some pastels: Certainly Celery, Barely Banana, Bashful Blue, and I tossed in Ballet Blue for kicks ;-)
My base card is Whisper White with layers of Certainly Celery, Bashful Blue and DP from the Delicate Dots DSP collection.
The focal image uses Verve's Flowers Plain Jane, was stamped on Whisper White with Ballet Blue and was matted with Bashful Blue. Then I added a section of DP that I tore at an angle for a little variety. Some Prima flowers and punched leaves, and some accent pearls finish it off.C'mon over to the Color Throwdown blog and play along with us this week. Please use Mr. Linky to post your card and please link directly to your card so we can find it easily. If you upload your card to a public forum, please use the keyword CTD46 so we can see your beauty all in one place. We've changed things a bit, so take a look at this post for an explanation. Hope to see you there!
