As promised, I’m back with this month’s MFT Color Palette Challenge. I LOVE this combo—what a fabulous one for masculine cards, don’t you think? I think it’s hard to come up with them, but this one nails it! Be sure to check by the MFT Blog for all the details on how to win a prize.
And this new set being released this month nails it too! Geeky glasses and man colors, what a combo, right? My card started with a Kraft card stock base, and with Versamark, I stamped a row of glasses from LLD Geek Is Chic up the side. The next panel is a piece of Orange Fizz card stock, stamped with Grid Background and Grout Gray ink. Next I added a piece of Nightshift Blue card stock stamped with Diagonal Stripes Background and Sweet Tooth pigment ink, then heat embossed with white embossing powder. Next up is a panel of Primitive Cream card stock on which I stamped the glasses image again several times, alternating Fuse Green ink, Orange Fizz ink, and Nightshift Blue ink, then popped it up on foam. The sentiment was stamped on more Primitive Cream card stock with Nightshift Blue ink, layered on a Fishtail Flags STAX Die-namics die cut of Fuse Green card stock stamped with Fuse Green ink and an image from Striped Backgrounds. That was popped up on foam, as well. To finish off I popped up a pair of Geek is Chic Glasses Die-namics cut from Orange Fizz card stock.
Here you can see the acetate I added behind the frames—it was a little tedious to trim it down and glue it back there but so worth the effort, don’t you think?
And here’s the inside, with another stack of glasses images, stamped in the same colors as the front, only I stamped off once so the sentiment, stamped in full-strength Nightshift Blue ink, wasn’t obscured.
And that’s it for me for today! Thanks SO much for stopping by—see you back tomorrow for Release Countdown, Day Five!
