S.W.A.K.–CTD #305

CTD305_2014aug13

Hey, there, it’s Wednesday so it must be Color Throwdown time! This week, Lori has a color combo that I adore! In fact, I was using this so much a couple or months ago I had to make myself stop. Put I HAVE to use it now, right?

swatch 305

I’m using a few MFT products that were just released last night: You’ve Got Mail, You’ve Got Mail Die-namics (Free With $60), and Small Checkerboard Stencil, along with a bunch of previously released products. I started with a Sweet Tooth card stock base, then added a Steel Gray card stock layer on which I spread some embossing paste using Small Checkerboard Stencil. I cut my envelope from copy paper and assembled it, then sealed it with a Washi Tape Die-namics stamped with Washi Patterns and Orange Fizz ink, Sour Apple ink, and Berrylicious ink, then over stamped with Steel Gray ink and the sentiment. I added some Orange Fizz card stock lips from Zipper Die-namics and an Upsy Daisy Die-namics cut from Berrylicious card stock and Sour Apple card stock. The Fishtail Flags STAX Die-namics flags were stamped with images from Washi Patterns, More Washi Patterns, Grid Background, LJD Spring Backgrounds, and Striped Backgrounds.

On the inside I stamped more images from You’ve Got Mail.

And that’s it from me! Remember, you do not have to have the exact colors to play the
Color Throwdown challenge. If you don't, just use the closest you have. So, c'mon over to the Color Throwdown blog and play along with us this week. Please use the link service to post your card and please link directly to your card so we can find it easily. And please include a link in your post to the Color Throwdown. If you upload your card to a public forum, please use the keyword CTD305 so we can see your beauty all in one place. Hope to see you there! Be sure to check out what the other team members have come up with this week, including our awesome August guest designer, Jodi Collins!

  11. Amazing use of patterns and colors. All of those banners look just right on top of the stenciled gray background and they perfectly highlight the simple sentiment and envelope.
