Everything Old Is New Again–Catered Crop Recipe Challenge

1cateredcrop_2014sep2

A thread at the Splitcoast Stampers forum, Stamping Graveyard, made Linda nostalgic for paper craft supplies, embellishments and tools that have come, gone, come back, or left for good.

For this challenge just raid your paper craft stash for anything you think needs a resurgence and . . .

  • Include a link to us at Catered Crop or add our button, which you can grab on our sidebar or at our {button gallery}.
  • Link up and link often, but be sure you link up by 8:00 PM EST on Saturday, September 13.
  • In honor of the Splitcoast Stampers thread that started this all you can also upload your project to the Splitcoast Stampers gallery with the keyword NEWAGAIN.
  • Keep the party hopping by visiting the other players and leaving comments.
  • Check back with us on September 14 to see if you’ve won an opportunity to be a guest designer

Here’s a Pinterest board of suggestions for supplies and tools that might need some new found love: Everything Old is New Again.  But don’t limit yourself to these suggestions - just grab anything from your stash that you think might feel a little neglected and give it some new-found love.

Confession time: in my craft room, when things go off trend, they usually see themselves hitting the road and I rarely regret getting rid of things—I’m all about moving on ;-) BUT I do still have some spiral clips hanging around so I got them out for this challenge.

I started with a Sweet Tooth Card Stock base, onto which I stamped Romantic Script Background with Black Licorice Ink. then I stenciled a Steel Gray Card Stock panel with MPD Graduated Hearts Stencil and some embossing paste and adhered it to the base. I added a Blu Raspberry Card Stock panel stamped with Grid Background and Black Licorice Ink, then a Stitched Circle STAX Die-namics cut from Sweet Tooth Card Stock and stamped with a sentiment from LJD Together Forever using Black Licorice Ink. I popped the last two elements up on foam, then added a Fishtail Flags STAX Die-namics cut from a piece of Sweet Tooth Card Stock stamped with Black Licorice Ink and Striped Backgrounds. I clipped them together with my spiral clip, then tied on some matching baker’s twine. The finishing touch was a few sparkly enamel dots.

Another sentiment from LJD Together Forever was stamped on the inside with Steel Gray Ink.

And that’s it! Go dig deep in your stash and find something from yesteryear, then come play along with the Catered Crop Recipe Challenge! See you soon!
