Spooky Sentiments–MFT August New Product Launch

NPR1_2014aug12

Hi, there, all, welcome to MFT’s August New Product Launch! Everything we’ve been showing your for the last week is now available at the MFT Boutique! I have a few cards to show you using Spooky Sentiments, along with several more of the new products, so grab a drink, get comfy and check them out.

Print

My first card started with a Sweet Tooth card stock base. I added a strip of Orange Fizz card stock that I stamped with LJD Darling Dots and a strip of Black Licorice card stock. I stamped the sentiment, from Spooky Sentiments, along the side, with Black Licorice ink. I knew I wanted to use the little ghosts from Spooky Scene Die-namics but I didn’t want them to just disappear on white card stock. I was wishing I had some black embossing paste and then had a thought! I didn’t NEED black embossing paste because I could make my own! MFT Black Licorice refill to the rescue!!

I placed a little embossing paste on my craft sheet and added a few drops (I started with 3 and added about 3 more) of Black Licorice ink, mixed it up well with my palette knife and I was set to go! O
n another piece of Sweet Tooth card stock, and with Small Checkerboard Stencil, I stenciled on some of my new black embossing paste, carefully dried it with my heat tool, and proceeded to pop up my ghosts. To finish it off, I added some orange sequins and clear gems.

On the inside, I added another sentiment from Spooky Sentiments and a moon from Spooky Scene Die-namics along with a couple of bats from Trick or Treat Die-namics.

For my next card, I brought in a different supporting actor ;-)

NPR2_2014aug12

I started with a Black Licorice card stock base, then stamped up some Orange Fizz card stock with Black Licorice ink and MPD Damask Designs. On that I place a Spider Web Cover-Up Die-namics cut from silver glitter paper and popped it up on the base. Then I cut a spider from Centerpieces Spooky Window Die-namics, “hung” him from some black twine, and popped him up on the web.

I stamped the sentiment from Spooky Sentiments on Black Licorice card stock with Sweet Tooth pigment ink and heat embossed with white embossing powder. I fussy cut that out and popped it up on the web, as well.

On the inside, I stamped another sentiment from Spooky Sentiments and added a swarm of scaaaaaaaaaaary spiders!
Are you scared yet?

I’ve had a bunch of wiggly eyes FOREVER and never used them so I’m making up for lost time on this card :)

NPR3_2014aug12

I *do* hope you’re not getting tired of my stripes backgrounds because I do love them. I made this with the narrow strip from Plaid Builder Background and Sweet Tooth card stock using Black Licorice ink, Sour Apple ink, Grape Jelly ink, and Orange Fizz ink, then trimmed it down and adhered it to a Sweet Tooth card stock base. Next I popped up a panel of Black Licorice card stock and added my “ghost” eyes randomly. The sentiment, from Spooky Sentiments, was stamped on Sweet Tooth card stock with Black Licorice ink, fussy cut out, and popped up on foam. Easy peasy, quick and easy!

On the inside is another sentiment from the set and a sweet little ghost from Spooky Scene Die-namics, complete with wiggly eyes.

For my final card, I created another scene.

NPR4_2014aug12

I started with a Sweet Tooth card stock base. I used the background that I showed you in my tutorial yesterday, and cut out a Circle STAX Die-namics opening as a moon. I slipped a piece of Banana Split card stock behind it, popped up on foam, then popped the whole thing up on a Black Licorice card stock layer. I built my scene, starting with Fresh Cut Grass Die-namics cut from Gumdrop Green card stock, a Black Licorice card stock tree, cat, and bat from Spooky Scene Die-namics. The smaller bats were made using Trick or Treat Die-namics. The sentiment, from Spooky Sentiments, was stamped on Sweet Tooth card stock with Black Licorice ink and popped up on foam. I finished it off with clear gems for “stars” and adhered the whole thing to the card base.

Another sentiment from Spooky Sentiments and more Spooky Scene Die-namics elements were added to the inside.
